China and PED’s

But I still disagree that you think this is a minor issue and they are only targeting people who they already suspect of a crime. I was never told of why I was selected for additional screening other than the have the right to randomly search anyone. I offended the officer so much by merely asking why he wanted to detain me and search my stuff and he went on a tirade about anytime we cross the border, the CBP has the authority to search us without a warrant. He said he can hold me for as long as he wants. It was eye opening to go from happy vacation mode to sitting in a room full of people who couldn't speak english who looked like they had been there for hours. No word on how long the process will take or what they will be doing and no one on the outside knew I was even in that room.
Needless to say seeing ICE walking around airports a few weeks ago really made realize that we are much closer to China than people realize.

Haven’t been, do Chinese airports have short screening lines? If so, I fear the same…lol. Thanks for the laugh!

I misread the last statement. You made. I thought you were saying you wouldn't mind if they get access to your photos.

sure, but that’s on them. You’re not required to give them your passcode. They can compel biometrics which is why you should power off your phone.
also, the rate at which this happens is minuscule. They don’t care about your dog photos. They probably suspect you of a crime already.
