Not dying on a hill, but I think we can all agree that the PWA is written in legalize for a reason. And in the old PWA GS were not proffers. People can "functionally" their way around it all you want, but people who weren't here back then need to understand that GS slips used to not be a proffer, and now they are.
And the reason I care about this is because I don't want to go back to the old telephone way of doing things like some people with rose colored glasses think it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Trips still got cancelled (unliked people claim), and that system was much more ripe for corruption, with people just calling in out of seniority order to grab trips, or CS having their "preferred list" of pilots that they would just call up to cover a trip.
ARCOS just needs to be fixed.

Where people if they picked up the phone would say "I can't take it cause I just had a drink", etc. Not fit to fly the GS.

Did trips get cancelled?
Did we have deal makers abrogating seniority?
Did CS have lists of people to call when they were in a pinch?
How much money did pilots lose because they had know idea if they got skipped for a trip due to the above?
For an old system that violated rules left and right and cost pilots money, people sure yearn for the glory days.

Nothing in post 242 fixes the OOBWS Auto-Accept problem.
A trip pops into open time inside 18 hours
Designating it a SS doesn't do anything.
Running a QS at the earliest opportunity doesn't do anything, the trip sat there running in OOBWS for over 10 hours.
