I'd REALLY like to see the actual data. Where are you getting your 4.5x figure from?
I know I could ask DALPA for this, but I'm looking more for information that I can readily point to/reference myself, and reference the next CA I fly with to. The bid monitor report doesn't show it. To be clear, I understand holding cards close to the chest, and contacting reps for the latest info. At the same time, pushing out numbers on a public forum (be it Velvet or this forum) without any reference to back it up is just words in the wind. Rumor. Gossip. This ties directly into my issue with the entire "acceptance rate" theory. |

Isn’t this the truth. I had a 16 hour layover last week and I had time to go on a nice run, eat AND take a dump. It was amazing! Week prior I had a 5 day and the longest layover was 12:30 with a circadian swap and multiple 8+ hour block days.

A sharp decline in pilots taking on extra flights beyond their regular schedules. Acceptance rates for these open trips have plunged to 2% from about 37% year over year. When PB days went from an incentive to punitive overnight It’s not because people have stopped flying premium trips. |

That drop in acceptance rate is based upon the ramp of auto accept being used. Every time a pilot auto accepts without acknowledging a trip, that’s a check mark in the no box for those statistics.
It’s not because people have stopped flying premium trips. I thought it was very apparent what they meant, but Frank hits the nail on the head here. Of course they're going to use the most "shocking" metric they can drum up. I expect the union to use as equally shocking of metrics in our defense. We all know the truth is closer to the middle. |

Folks - our trip coverage process is totally broken. This is 100% the companies fault. We Pilots are not helping the situation. Two things can both be true.
