Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Scambo, Those are great ideas but in the real world not a reality. I think at first reading we can do better in some areas then current TA but as always there is risk involved. In 3 years we could be negotiating a new contract from a 20% higher base, then your suggested pay rates would not be unreasonable or we could still be negotiating this TA and your rates would still be considered unreasonable by the NMB. Who knows ? There is always risk involved, ask the AA guys about the contract they turned down early Sep. 2011. Still unsure of my vote but leaning no.
I agree that in 3 years ... In 3 years I could be dead, in 3 years a comet could smash into the earth...
My suggested payrates and other contract aspects are not only reasonable, they are do-able. Maybe just not with this pilot group and obviously not with this MEC.
I just don't see any reason to have a CB Agent or a NC or any union anything if this is what is brought. The time for being all agreeable and sweet is over, just like the company wants it.

Where does it say in the TA that any 717s that come our way do not come with pilots?

What is all this talk of a "secret" or "incentive" being held back from us that certain posters have discussed. This concerns me that there are people who are withholding information to drop out there close to ratification to possibly sway us, and that poster(slowgame? Or something, sounded like it was the union holding this info back)...

Not that it matters what he says, but where is he saying it? And is he actually announcing that we're funding other employees' profit sharing, indirectly?

We’ve talked a lot about the steps we’re taking to continue improving the products and services we offer customers, to retire less efficient aircraft and maintain capacity discipline by continuing to right-size our fleet and network to match customer demand. As part of our work with the Delta pilots, we are making a major strategic shift in our mainline fleet – once again leading the industry. It is time to complete the dramatic reduction of 50-seat RJs and significantly increase and upgrade our mainline fleet.
First, we’ve reached an agreement in principle with Southwest Airlines and Boeing – to lease 88 Boeing 717 aircraft for the mainline that will replace inefficient 50-seat RJs. The Boeing 717 aircraft will be extensively refurbished, with new seats, galleys, in-flight Wi-Fi and cabin upgrades. Once refurbished, the aircraft will seat 110 passengers with 12 first class seats, 15 Economy Comfort seats and 83 economy seats. These aircraft will give our high value customers even more opportunities to upgrade to first class and Economy Comfort seats, extending our industry leading position as the U.S. airline with the most first class seats.
Second, Delta will increase the two-class 76 seat regional jet fleet by 70 airplanes, which will increase our total large RJ fleet from 255 to 325.
"agreement in principle" only right now....

I see one piece of the sales pitch here:
Delta to Take Delivery of Boeing 717 Aircraft Upon Ratification of Pilot Tentative Agreement - Yahoo! Finance

So is Delta going to have to start hiring to staff the 717s? Or, with all the reduction in capacity, is Delta just re-shuffling pilots?
