330=41 Capt. + 3F/O
767ER=46 Capt. + 1F/O
320=31 Capt.

In this A/E, they replaced 22 of the 29 747 Capts. and a whole bunch of A330, 767Er and 320 Capts., so I don't see a 'MOAB' coming in Oct. Perhaps just some 737 and 717 possitions, for next summer's schedule.
Lions not Titans

I know, I know. TOTD for pointing that out

No, football is important, unlike most of the TOTD stuff!

I don't know how I got them confused except that I was checking the schedule, I saw all the games liisted for tonight and I must have gotten crossed up. I'm watching the Detroit game right now, Stafford looked pretty good. I'd rather be watching Tom Brady! OMG, instant humma!

And...the refs are indeed 'replacement' refs. Does that make them Scabs??

In theory, the retirements could lag behind the deliveries, but I'm just as much of a MD-88 A, in theory, as little Johnny is a millionaire in theory.

In reality...
If all the dc9 A's bid into the 717 then there should be plenty of available slots on the MD88. Everyone keeps forgetting that we are getting 30 plus MD90's in the next year & will need to staff them. So the 717 should be a growth airplane (in terms of Delta CA seats).

"Growth aircraft" are the jets delivered after the mainline fleet hits 767 airframes.

Any aircraft joining the fleet below 767 mainline aircraft is simply a replacement jet.

YMMV

Just two SLC F/Os moved up, one from the 320 and one from the 7ER.

Kinda disappointing as an FO, but indeed the first thing I said was "I DIDN'T MOVE BACKWARDS!" which turns out to be stellar actually, as it's the first AE I haven't moved backwards for 3 years. Sweet!... there's very little that downgraded goals in life won't fix

Remember - When you are going backwards you have to come to a stop prior to moving forward!

80, checking in!

My observation of the bid- basically 1 layer of backfilling. None of the cascading that would normally occur- A handful of 320 CA's vacated out of the ATL 320, but were not backfilled and they are very short staffed. Zero movement on the FO side.

I would expect a pretty major cleanup bid in October as a result of this.

Oh, and if you take it upon yourself to lecture a pilot of your own ranks over snagging his dhd tagged bag from down below (since said pilot was in his civvies and put it there as a courtesy), and then continue on and tell said pilot about how to ask for a jumpseat (once again, not jumpseating.. nonrevving)... you're probably the tool of the day!

Who do we have to merge with to get above that number?
