I never thought about this. I've been thinking that additional 175's would mean they'd have to combine Compass and DAL in order to go over the limit.

The number would stay the same. And here I thought I had figured it all out.

Hmmm. Definitely like the total furlough protection and the additional captain slots if it came to it.

Nu are correct sir! The Lockheed C-141 Starlifter was the greatest aircraft ever in the Air Force inventory. If we could only have convinced paying passengers to jump it would have been a roaring commercial success too!

Read the rest of his post again. Basically we would take the aircraft from a DCI carrier and bring them to Compass. Same number of airplanes and considering they are already painted, I would guess the exact same airplanes that are in service for us already.

Got that. It would mean they would be walking away from the SA operation then. They cannot fly 190's on a DCI certificate.

How many C-141's are still flying? Compared to hundreds of KC135s...

Only because the 135s never flew. They just sat there for years. When they started flying them regularly, they had to put new engines and skin on them to keep them around.

The BUFF rules for longevity though, by far.

Like I said, this is a zero net gain on 76 seat jets. RJET wants 190's for their MEH operations. The 175's at current book require no modification to our section one. It really is just an aircraft swap like we have seen OH.EV, and SK doing for some time.

Just my idea of what a possible outcome could be with all of this talk of LCC getting rid of the 190's, CPS hiring etc. Just thinking out loud. Its like I scared some of ya

Oh and just to add fuel to the fire, with this Frontier rumor, we then could get 10 of their 319's. Like I said, I am just looking at all of these rumors and connecting the dots.

I'm not sure where this talk of Compass hiring has come from. They have done a bit of hiring lately, but it's mainly been to (finally!) get us properly staffed so we don't have to keep giving flying back to mainline...I heard Momma D wasn't too pleased the fourth or fifth time that happened. So far as hiring instructors is concerned, my understanding is that it was to replace those who weren't coming to Minneapolis from Montreal.

On the other hand, I'm a peon who tries to avoid spending too much time in the crew room, so others' information could be much more accurate.
