I hope you are joking? All they have to is copy Dalpas testimony/playbook from the last time, take it to arbitration and WALA, homerun. Seriously, how do we even attempt to defend it? When I bring HAL, AS, or even JB(and how bad relative seniority is going to bite us in the ass) up to the ATL FO's I fly with that were 2007-2008 hires and how they are going to get reamed this time it's almost comical. Sucks being on the other end.

Sorry, I thought about this and looked in the contract. If we merge with HAL and a 2012 hire is placed in with say a 1998 hire, just an example, their seniority might have them with those hired in 98 but their longevity for pay purposes would be based on 2012, right?

Exactly. Makes total sense. Same aircraft types, HND, an HNL base that NWA used to have....and 300 or so pilots. The SLI would be a no brainer. Be a lot cheaper and make more sense than an AS merger. It would suck for their heritage and company culture....but lots of heritage and company culture is going by the way these days.

You could pull and plug a given amount, zipper a given amount, blend an amount with relative and then staple a certain amount, all in the same merger. Then there's fences and freezes as well. Everyone will tout their "gold standard" which will be whatever serves them the best. That is why they almost always go to arbitration.
DL and NW were much, much closer across the board than DL and HI would be on many seniority related issues. I would expect DALPA to resist a full on relative integration with all available resources, just as I would expect HALPA to "go for it" because hey, why not?

I'd say if we merge with HAL since there are 556 pilots, date of hire would be better and the same with AK since they have 1432 pilots and their retirements are close to ours. Plus with all the new hires both have, relative seniority would hit the DAL junior guys yet again. But then again, I'm a West Coast guy that would like to fly out of SEA sometime before I retire in the next 15-20 years, so I'm a bit bias....

How would we DOH with an airline if our list isnt DOH? The original DL list wasn't even DOH to begin with...
SEA 7ERB went wayyy junior... how far down the list are you?
