Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
It's hard to ever buy the first round with newK... if you try, he's already jedi mind tricked them and you can't!
Kudos to all for keeping the political stuff low key and not biting off on the couple of out of terms of service posts (none of which had to be deleted because no one got out of hand- we DL mods try to keep things like that on this thread since most people behave and self correct).
It's time to move on and here's to a prosperous airline!
As Bainite pointed out... I'm not thrilled with the crew resources direction given for the "big" bid in jan/feb. Sounds like more widebody to narrowbody movement- particularly in mecca. It's frustrating seeing this, particularly after such a rush job on the TA. But, like the election, it's what we have to live with now no matter how you voted.

So, I got rerouted into a domicile layover (for a rsv taken off the trip and the balance offered up again) tonight due to an LGA cx, and then promptly got assigned the rest of the trip since no other rsv could cover it. I hope the CA likes me. I used my sexy voice most of the evening so I'm assuming so.
It was funny with the new checklist today- "cabin notification- ok your response is going to be...." I absolutely love the new formatting, though. The checklist is finally no longer frankenstein and is an efficient machine. I'm still not a fan of having "as req" on any line on the checklist (rather than the options that the NW checklists had), but this is very much a good move in the right direction.
I'm one of the test subjects on the automatic performance upload on fifi. It saves somewhere around 30 keystrokes. Coming to a fleet near you!
Just got an email update from flt ops re: crew planning news. Next AE expected in Jan or Feb to open the ATL 717 categories and will have some 73N openings. DTW 717 to follow later. More 320 FO displacements as well as ATL 767 displacements. May have more DC9 openings depending on needs.

Here's your sign...

OK, now that the election is over, can we get back to something really important? What about Lance Armstrong's 7 Tour DeFrance titles?? WWJD?

Am I the only one who saw the new South Park last night, about the election?

Oh, and I also saw Flight last night. I don't drink Vodka but I had to stop on the way home and get started....because...
"No one could have landed that airplane like I did" is going to be included in all my 'welcome to Atlanta' PA's from now on!

From Flight Ops Crew Planning News:
"MAX RESERVE AND RESERVE FULL
Beginning with the December bid period, PWA Section 23 S.2.a.1 becomes effective. Previously, a reserve pilot would not be assigned a rotation that would cause his credit to exceed the ALV. The new language will allow a pilot with whose accumulated monthly block and credit is below the reserve guarantee to be assigned a rotation as long as it does not cause his credit to exceed the ALV plus 15 hours."
I really don't like this part of our PWA. I got two extra days off last month because scheduling maxed me out.
Also, the year-over-year decreases in block hours system wide is a disappointment. I personally have moved up 521 seniority numbers since two years ago, but I have fewer people below me now.
BTW, I jumpseated with an American crew last week and the FO was furious that my 3rd year pay rate exceeded his 12-year pay rate on the Maddog, which will only get wider beginning Jan. 1st. I'm interested to see what American will look like next year.

For those political junkies out there, this article by Dan Henninger best describes the division in our nation. It's really just big city voters versus rural voters when looking at the map.

No one down south wants to see what happens when newK says "bless your heart" to someone. The last time that happened, Atlanta burned in the civil war.
