You mean now we have to doubt those guys that have been singing "but wait we don't start getting airframes till September 2013"

It is hard for me not to be a little "cup half empty" sometimes. Especially when the story never seem to change for the better, always the other way. "Well the markets changed, have you seen Europe's economy, look at brent prices" How do you stay positive with a chorus like that?

It is a nice sunny day though so we got that going for us.

Bloomberg: Is the airline industry fixed in terms of capacity discipline/ was Buffett wrong?

DAL: Won't take on Buffett, but will deploy capital in rational ways.

That was such a great opportunity to repeat the capacity discipline mantra, yet he didn't go for it. The new buzzwords seem to be spending discipline.

Those seem to be in high demand now which is why the company bought NEW CRJ-900's. I figured if used 717's were good enough for mainline ops, used RJ's would be the same, but apparently not.

Sounds like something will happen with domestic feed to Virgin Atlantic once the deal gets regulatory approval late in the year.

Who said anything about furloughs? 3 straight years of profit and a 4th consecutive year forecasted. You want growth and a fast upgrade? Leave Delta. Go to Emirates. I hear their upgrade is fairly quick, but slowing. Legacy/Major Airlines in the USA aren't growing. LCCs are trying, and it's not working for many. Virgin America throttled back planned deliveries rapidly to slow the bleeding. Spirit is probably the exception, and they might be growing all be it slowly. This is what the industry is becoming. ALPA, SWAPA, USAPA, APA, DPA, & Teamsters can't change that.

Deal with it or leave.

I don't listen to hiring promises anymore - they've fallen flat several times in my brief tenure at Delta. Once we start canceling flights due to lack of pilots as they max out their times in the summer, then we'll see hiring 3 months later, probably too late to fix the immediate problem.

I for one am glad you're so vigilant about Johnso's internet musings. You never know what kind of brainwashing he might be attempting, that might otherwise get unnoticed, if not for you.

It's like a big game of Stratego around here, and you just uncovered a Captain, right? Keep looking, and you might find a Spy, and a General!
