I don't know, i know Douglas airplanes last a long time. Bar would say it's more like an Irish Divorce, they're here, but they don't love you anymore.
Anyways, I wish we'd order more jets because I'm not getting the feeling we've ordered enough just to remain the same size. But that's just a gut feeling.

Sorry, but that's just not right...give a guy a 6th SC for the month because he's a 3-day availability pilot when there are 4-day+ pilots in the hopper with ZERO SCs & ZERO raw?! Computer or no computer, that's going a bit far with the seniority rationale. I as much as anyone look forward to greater seniority someday so that I too may enjoy the benefits that accompany that status, but I think that's taking it entirely too far.

I get proactive and look ahead. Especially later in the month. If I'm in the 3+ SC / 80+ RAW buckets and I'm the only 3 day guy and there are a bunch of 4 day guys then I will move an X day to put me in the same available grouping as the 4 day guys. Strategic moving of X days can be a very valuable tool.

If they would reduce the amount of time from 72 hours to 24 hours prior to move X days then that tool becomes awesome. Had that ability at JetBlue and you could watch open time the day prior and move days to avoid trips that showed up. It was great for those who knew how to use it. 
We also had real time swap/drop which made moving X days a breeze....no waiting for a PCS run.
About the only thing you can do here is tag a day onto the end of a block or take one off the end of a block that is larger than 3 days. Helps on occassion, but not very often from what I've seen.

If I'm unlucky enough to get a 5 day trip during a 5 day reserve block the 1st thing I do is move an X day so I have a reserve day after the 5 day trip. Good way to score an extra day off as you almost always get left alone on that reserve day after the 5 day trip.

Looking at those tables it really does make you realize that ordering 188 airplanes, maybe 200 if you include the remaining MD90s, just really ain't enough to keep up.
Now back to Mumford & Sons on Pandora. I guess musical talent is making a come back despite what American Idol says.
