Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Just playing devil's advocate here. I'm onboard with your intent.
With this new emphasis, D-0 at JFK an LGA will be close to zero. Generate an out time when aircraft movement is imminent? That's normally 10-20 minutes after scheduled departure time. Nice.
I'm going back to the letter of the law iaw this bulletin. Stuck chock? We can get it out once we are cleared to push. The data the company is reading off my acars will be valid and I'll document every late push. Then DAL can decide what metric really makes them happy.
My guess is that they will change their mind about this one pretty soon.
Me too ExAF, and I appreciate what you are saying but if I'm not mistaken the pushback checklist is to be complete prior to aircraft movement, which doesn't preclude you from calling for clearance--- only from telling the tug driver "cleared to push".
About all this bulletin means is that the Rampers will now be asking to pull the External Power about 40 minutes prior to push instead of the normal 20 minutes prior that they are doing now.
....As others have said, if we really started to put the beacon on when aircraft movement was imminent, ACS/Flt Ops would get a tremendous shock as their precious on-time stats went to hell.

But those are exactly the stats they need, and it's what they're asking us for. Until we do that, we are only masking the real problems in the operation. Fixing them is up to mgmt. If they start coming after us, which I'd be very surprised to see, then we'd need to take things as they go from there.

I'm assuming there's a humorous anecdote forthcoming.
Had to look up that word, since it's not in my normal vernacular.
Latency refers to a short period of delay (usually measured in milliseconds) between when an audio signal enters and when it emerges from a system. Potential contributors to latency in an audio system include analog-to-digital conversion, buffering, digital signal processing, transmission time, digital-to-analog conversion and the speed of sound in air.
I don't think this is what you're referring to, so let's hear it.

Paraphrasing DLR - "I don't feel latent."
Name the song?

Does anyone own a Telex 5 X 5? I was looking into buying a headset, but since I'm on the 7ER and we don't use intercoms I think a ANR headset is out. I'm a reserve rat, so I rarely fly international. Was thinking the custom mold ear piece would be more comfortable then those David Clark's, & provide more hearing protection then the Telex 750.
I'm open to suggestions, and looking for a headset that I can also use on the B737/M88/B717 since I'll likely end up on one of those fleets. Thanks.
