I actually want to use WW, and downloaded it for direct DBMS access right after your post, but as I said the thing still has 1 may and 1 jun for the bid periods, and when I try to download the schedule it just hangs there with "download schedule period starting?" 01May13 .... it's obviously causing a script hang. How do you get past this?
Thanks!
Thanks!
However, if you update each program separately, (easybid, easy swap, WW), using f5, it should correct the bid months permanently... it did for me. For some reason you must update each separately... if you check all the update boxes for an f5 update of WW, doesn't seem to work.

You ignore all the good changes on reserve. You are now full at the reserve guarantee, known absences now count toward being full (huge in a vacation or training month) and a 8 percent average raise for the year on top of the 12.8 percent a the amendable date.
Your description of how the change came about is also wildly inaccurate.

With the bucket system and weekend flying there might be some junior Douglas pilots getting really abused compared to everyone else. If anyone has flown an ALV+15 month against their will, I've not seen their example. The trade off for the junior pilots that want to escape the MD are doing back to back red eyes to one hour + van rides up dirt roads in a diesel powered version of a 1972 volkswagen vanagon populated by four exhausted flight attendants, your Captain, the van driver and his significant other. At least the local version of the Rush Limbaugh show is blaring to the sound of something that sounds like an Orangutan is singing to the beat of combat boots in a clothes dryer. WOMPITY WOMP eeeeeeeelalalala WOMPITY CRASH! Pregunte deLLTAH KAPITAN tomorrow twenty three fifEETEE van. Then they motion for you to light their cigarette. When in God's green earth have First Officers carried cigarette lighters? Anyway, how do they smoke at 10,000 feet? Jeesh, I'm bidding back to Douglas test flight work.
New York ER might be the best junior flying deal in the system, but, New York.
Heard a rumor we are going to ETOPS a couple of 737's and send them DBN / SNN, close in Europe. That thing sure isn't very comfortable for that kind of flying. At least talk show hosts are less inteligible in Gaelic and they dive on the wrong side of the road.

Yes, these good changes were "funded" by the across the board ALV+15 that Tumbleweed states. Thanks for reminding us of yet another example of this contract's cost neutrality.
Funded by reductions in profit sharing makes it just another COLA increase.
Wow...a 12.8% pay bump at the amendable date? Awesome! I take it all back. You DALPA apologists were right...I guess it's not a COLA contract after all.
After what you've just posted above, you're nobody to describe ANYTHING as wildly inaccurate.
This is an example of why DALPA and its loyal apologists have lost so much trust and credibility. You'd do so much to help yourself if you'd just come clean as Tumbleweed suggests. Dream on I guess

These cost neutral changes as you call them are why your total compensation is going to be up over 120,000 a year since the merger and your hourly rate up over 120 per hour including the DC next JAN.

I am with you here. Overall, the changes resulted in much improved pay for reserve pilots.

Bar,
The way the bucket system is set up as soon as said junior Douglas Pilot hits bucket two, he goes to the back of the list. Any variation greater than being one bucket ahead of other Pilots is random and occurs despite the bucket system.
Reserve usage varies greatly by category - the smaller categories are much more random then the large categories (law of averages at work) but there are a lot of other factors besides the bucket system that impact utilization.

If as rumored we are going to start over flying NRT, where are we getting the aircraft to operate the flights?

Had a conversation with the 73 CLCP, and he said no, we will not be doing any SNN or western Europe stuff like DUB. They are planning to use it as a 75 domestic replacement...IE Transcons and red eyes.
Sad... I was so looking forward to Shannon!

You're correct in that you're full when you reach your personal RSV guarantee - this can be reduced by PD, Vacation, CQ, etc.
To keep it simple, in a month where you don't have anything to reduce your guarantee, you will be full at the published RSV guarantee for your category. Let's say your category's RSV guarantee is 72 hours, then AFTER your credit for the month meets or exceeds 72 hours, you are full and won't be assigned flying without a YS. If you are at or below 71:59 and a trip pops up, you can be assigned the trip as long as it keeps you below ALV+15, which in this case would be 89 hours (assuming the ALV is 74, or guarantee + 2 hours).
This differs from the past where they could not assign you a trip that exceeded ALV unless you YS.
In many cases the new contract does allow them greater access to a reserve, but let's say for example you have a week of vacation in the same month from above. Now your personal guarantee is 49:15 (72 hours minus 22:45 of vacation) and you will be considered full once you reach that point, whereas in the past they could have still assigned you flying up to the ALV of 74 hours, essentially leaving you open for abuse in a month where you had some sort of VTS offset.
While certainly not perfect or ideal, I don't think it's going to be as bad as some guys are predicting. There will certainly be a few guys going over ALV where they wouldn't have in the past, but we will not be seeing many RSV's flying into the high 90's - it's just too difficult to get there on a regular basis.

With Part 117 allowing us to fly up to 9 hours it wouldn't surprise me. 737 pay and only 2 pilots! This sounds like a no brainer. Only time will tell...
