The SEA flying is great, but for the time being we have the equivalent of 2 current 777s, at least, doing a 757-300 job, not to mention the 777s filling in AMS for the 330 seat mods. If there is overflight expansion, you've got 1 cities worth (at least) of point to point capacity available right now. Until I see it, I don't believe it. I am with you there. Until it is on the ramp with DAL pilots in the seats it is just wishful thinking, but I am optimistic on this since the order was announced. As far as what base they fly out (see dalad's post above) I am not sure how much it really matters - guys seem to follow the WBs around the system so we will all benefit. Hell with 10 more WBs in the system I may even move up 1 number in LAX on the 737B. Scoop :) |

How ya doin my brother from a different mother? Been awhile. I have no argument with anything you posted, and agree with the majority of it. Believe it or not, my questions posted were to elicit just this kind of response rather than the usual rock fight. I have looked at this thing with the anemic knowledge I have on the subject and I just didn't see the (obvious?) response to this situation. So then as a follow on, how do we exploit that leverage? The donuts will more than likely advocate a just say no campaign, and what I want to know is how that will better our position. And as I also said, I am winding my watch and waiting for the MEC explanation as to what they did.... Yes it seems that there is some play on emotions on both side of the fence, and if I was falling into that category, it was unintentional.

How do we set up our bidding for CQ? Due month is Dec. Would prefer CQ in this order. JAN (grace), DEC (due) and NOV as a last choice. Thanks

Read the online magazine. It is the automatic funding of the HRA that is going away. You have to earn part of it but we will still get our HRA dollars.
All in all a net loss to my income well north of $1000 yr. or 1% of my 3% raise. Let's just call it a 1.5% raise in January. |

Too complicated for a quick response. There is a PBS CQ bidding guide that lays it all out. You can probably pull it off DNET/PBS site, or I can e-mail you a PDF if you PM me your E-mail address. Scoop |
The projected Training/Conversion is out for the last AE. Under scheduling section of Deltanet. That's All, now back to your regular scheduled program.

The 330's that have been purchased are not going to SEA. I heard it from the "horses" mouth. The 777 is going to be used for the SEA expansion. I don't know if it can go non stop to SIN and BKK ( Timbo, Scambo?) but am highly doubtful. What I was told is the 330's are going elsewhere.

Good post. I don't think anyone is debating whether the NRT operation is going to morph over time, but rather how much and how soon, and is this the best we can do? That's hardly saying "no", and the usual hardliners coming on with the 85% or 0%, "Jane you ignorant $lut" arguments make me deeply suspicious.
I quit thinking suspicious thoughts about this stuff a long time ago. We have to start thinking like investors and businessmen instead of union thugs. Look at today's news for example. There is a Bloomberg article about DAL and VA aligning flights and terminals from JFK to LHR. What did DAL stock do? (crossed $24/share earlier in the day) Wall Street is paying attention to DAL. We are fighting a 2000s style union "war", and we have an alternative group that wants to send us back to the 1940s. JMHO, YMMV, but I do know that DAL stock is treating me pretty well these days... Business is dynamic, not static. Grow or die. Being a member of the investment class is what awaits us when we retire whether or not you want to believe it, so getting a leg up on that concept now will make the transition much much easier, and far more lucrative. /rant |

They are in a no win position in a sense then: If they say no, and the company then DOES pull down significant flying, there will be a ruckus from the dough boys about how DALPA didn't protect us. If they DO sign an agreement as rumored, you get the emotional response you allude to. So how should they proceed? Will you support them if we tell the company to pack sand and they subsequently pull it down or do you want the protection they negotiated?

If business is so dynamic, and we say yes to everything, for what reason do we have a CBA? |
