There are examples of NO votes being absolutely appropriate. The same applies to YES votes, however.

And vice versa. I'm guessing you voted no on the last agreement here at DAL. So long as you read the agreement, and concluded that it warranted a no vote, you have my respect. I just know that there are guys who will always vote no--and for that matter, others who will always vote yes--before they have read the first word of any agreement. We all need to be more accountable to ourselves than that.

^^^ I completely agree!

Interesting about SEA. Were either of the incumbents on the ballot?

No. Capt rep didn't make it out of nomination and AA chose not to run.

...just not for DALPA.

Hey insurance gurus out there,
I got an email from ALPA telling me about my ALPA insurance. Here are the numbers I'm asking about:

Code:

Insurance                    Coverage  Annual Premium    Monthly Premium
DLS Guardian - US              $33,750    $767.40                $63.95
Group Term Life Member        $50,000    $45.36                  $3.78
ALPA Loss of License - VEBA    $1,200      $519.96                $43.33

Is this telling me I'm payin $767 a year to get just $33,750 of insurance from Guardian? That seems a totally self-insurable amount, a worthless pittance, and not worth $767 a year to me... what am I missing?
Also, ALPA loss of license, coverage $1200... what does this mean? Is the insurance payout for a loss of license just $1200? Am I really paying 50% of that, $520 a year, for just $1200 bucks?

I have all my insurance papers packed away for some renovations just now, so can't find my relevant docs... any info appreciated. I MUST be reading this wrong?

You actually had a legitimate argument going... until this ^^^^^^^^^^^^

You just want a no vote to just show the bastards. period. That is your only motive.

Not at all. It's not about me. It's about what's best for the pilot group.

The company is doing what it's supposed to, which is attempt to minimize our costs. ALPA does not do what it's supposed to do, which is fight tooth and nail on our behalf for every cent and every minute off.

herkflyr said there are times when a "no" vote is justified.

I simply stated that the DALPA has never done so...even when faced with a rushed product full of productivity giveaways. DALPA chose the path of least resistance, instead of leading the tough grind required to deliver the compensation we rate.

Fed Ex-- I've been told we have a good benefit when shipping FedEx? I've been all over the Delta Perks page and can't find anything... can someone point me in the right direction? Thx
