I doubt if we'll ever see Richard order another new Boeing widebody, he is constantly talking down the 777 as a jet with nowhere to go.
Sad, isn't it? At least there will still be Boeings on the property until I retire. I am not interested in a sex change.

You may be right, but man I just think there is a reason airlines around the world have ordered the 773 in mass.

Ask the important question: Which one will pay more?

Richard was still at Continental when Northwest ordered the first Airbus'. He was in top management though when the order was made for the A330.

Truth is, the real person responsible for the A330 at NW was Mickey Foret who was the numbers guy for years there. Worked Airbus over on that deal, especially since all the internal studies at NW showed the 777 was too big. He's on the BOD with Delta.

If you only dropped 3 days for MIL, then your projected credit should've only dropped by 13.5. Any training or vaca on your schedule?

Every other carrier can figure out where to fly the 777, but for some reason, Delta cannot. A buddy of mine at AA asked me why we don't fly them to Europe. I said, "We do fly to Europe...we fly right over Dublin, London, Paris, and Frankfurt, then we keep going 6 more hours to land in Dubai!"

The only 'good news' I've heard from the LCA's is that the 777 will be going to London come May or June, after they've added more seats, and that Boeing was in ATL a few months ago, pitching the 777-300 as the replacement to the 747.

Replacement jets, not growth jets.

We have yet to see an A/E replacing the retiring 777/747 Capts.

It would have been nice to see a couple of CA/FO openings for the 330 or other wide bodies. Hopefully some senior FO's will finally upgrade.

This is the most disturbing part of AE.

"The 7ER block hours will peak in July and decrease by 25 percent by the time we reach December 2014."

Currently 1493 7ER capt - 25% = 373 displacements
Currently 1791 7ER F/O - 25% = 447 displacements

YIKES

That is a lot of people bidding and displacing to lower paying jobs.

And yes we will have the 330 coming on property in 2015 but they will barely offset the the above reduction.

For comparason purposes, here's UALs January Bid:

Vacancy Summary:
Captains
ORD777CA 15
DCA777CA 20
SFO777CA 10
DCA756CA 5
EWR737CA 50
ORD737CA 10
DEN737CA 10
LAX737CA 10

First Officers
ORD777FO 10
DCA777FO 20
SFO777FO 20
DCA756FO 5
EWR76TFO 75

That's 45 top paying widebody captain seats, 85 narrowbody captain seats, and lots and lots of right seat movement.
