Big line of crap about to hit, tornado warnings coming now:

True per 117. However, keep in mind that the PWA still applies. You still have the option to pull the plug when you hit your contractual duty day limit. If you want to do that though, you must notify them.

As 80 said, they are barely hanging on in an IROP so odds are they won't/don't notice it if you don't bring it to their attention.

They can only become DL jobs if the corresponding AC become covered under DL scope. Simply throwing a regional pilot group into DALPA to fly volitile RFP/ACMI contracts not owned by DALPA does nothing to capture or secure the flying.

Congrats BiigD! USAirways ought to start getting pretty good here soon, the AA contract is quite nice and has some better stuff than ours even on some things--rigs, vacation, etc. I think.

I think you'll do great there!

Be careful:

-you need 10 hours PROACTIVE REST prior to FDP..
-a DH only duty period is not an FDP

you can DH after only contractual rest of 9 hrs, but you are only good to DH...Crew Tracking has no way of knowing what rest you just had...if they try to fly you after less than 10 hrs...throw the flag.

There have been cases of pilots in the middle of a DH only period, after less than 10 hours rest, getting rescheduled to fly...they cannot. The Pope himself cannot make it so.

As Chief Brody said, 'we're gonna need a bigger boat...."

This is amazing...

I don't know how to embed YouTube videos, but it's helmet camera footage from Felix Baumgartner's balloon jump. Video quality is just stunning.

Edit: and someday 80 can teach me how he did that....

EGL MEC just said no to concessions and management is threatening to shut them down. Along with the recent XJT vote against concessions, I wonder if this flying will now come back to mainline? EGL and XJT are almost half of the regional flying and they don't want to play anymore. This could be the opportunity to bring this flying back in house. What does everyone think?

I think at some point pilots need to say no.
