For us right seaters in the dc9, it's nice to get the numbers and set the bugs/books at the gate. Life got a little easier.

How do you copy a picture on here? I'll show you a REAL UT hottie... not some cow tipping Texas chick.

Send me a PM.

And I saw a lot of those UT hottie's on tv during the game Saturday. I love Tennessee. A lot of pretty girls went to Auburn and some of my favorites were from TN. God Bless Nashville.

JAL to shelve talks with Delta, American: report
Mon Oct 5, 2009 8:13am EDT

TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan Airlines Corp (JAL) (9205.T) plans to put on hold tie-up talks it has been holding separately with Delta Air Lines (DAL.N) and AMR Corp's (AMR.N) American Airlines, Japan's Kyodo news agency reported on Monday.

Delta and a rival group led by American Airlines have been in talks to invest in JAL and form closer ties with it, eyeing expansion in Japan and the rest of Asia. JAL is Asia's largest airline in terms of annual revenue.

So, what is the good and bad for Delta?
...
The European Commission said Friday that it had some antitrust objections to the proposed co-operation among the American Airlines, British Airways and Iberia on transatlantic routes as it could cut competition.

...
The pilots and cabin crew of an Air India flight brawled at 30,000ft after a stewardess accused a co-pilot of sexual harassment.

The cockpit of the Airbus A320 was reportedly left unmanned during the scuffle and at one point a pilot allegedly threatened to land Flight IC-844, from the United Arab Emirates to Delhi, in Pakistan, which it was flying over. According to Indian media reports, crew members threw punches and hurled abuse at each other in full view of 106 passengers.

I forget, can you be called say at 1700 the day prior to a block of reserve days and be told that's your 12 hours notice for a trip that reports at 0500 the next day? ie, can the 12 hour call out requirement for long call be part of what is actually a day off?

Yes and no. You have no requirement to answer the phone on your day off (actually, you are never REQUIRED to answer your phone even on an on call day) - you do have to check your schedule after 1500 local base time on your last X day though. And I think, per the contract, the earliest report you can have on your first on call day is 0500.

So, if you check your schedule at 1501 and there is no trip, and you are are not assigned SC - the earliest report you could be given would be 1200, and they would have to try to contact you at midnight to assign that trip.

I think if this happens, you get credit for a short-call.
