Because the MEC Ch and Negs danced around "direction" - the Reps didn't direct them not to because they couldn't because it wasn't a meeting. I recall a special meeting was proposed over the issue and the admin was adamant it was not necessary - in retrospect likely because direction might have been given contrary to where they wanted to go with PS for pay.

76 seaters were in the discussion *after* the 717 proposal was pitched by the company. That was not in the beginning of negotiations.

Of course my memory might be faulty also
This squares exactly with my conversation with reps back then.

There you go again trying to equate C2012 with management's decision to grow the airline. The two are not connected. We haven't displaced because the airline is growing...C2012 notwithstanding. If the airline were shrinking, we'd be displacing...C2012 notwithstanding.

I know you know this, yet you continue with this obvious straw man. Why is that sailingfun?

A little change of subject here. I have a trip Aug. 1-4 that I want to drop and get paid for it using payback days. I know how to put it in PCS but, if reserves required are higher that reserves available, I was thinking about using my APD to drop it. The question is: If I use the APD to drop it, how do I then use payback days to get paid for it? Do I have to call scheduling to do it? Okay, that's two questions.

Oh, and WOW, 16 A330 captain positions in Seattle ought to cause some serious movement here...

Whatever we see next year, it will be significant, and I think the timing will get in the way of trading profit sharing for straight hourly rate increases (or anything else of measurable value).

Your predictions of economic bliss are based on U.S. energy production, right? Not that a production glut would interfere with extraction costs or anything. I think the current run will last until mid-2017, but I could be wrong. The money supply is a mess, but consumer spending is finally crawling back. A lot of what can affect a contract is out of our control.

We won't know who is right until the drop happens.

I am open to trading profit sharing in C2015, but it has to be a superior ratio of exchange (shown through the costing analysis) than what we got in C2012. The historical precedents are completely different between the two deals.

No -- it comes down on the first bid when the 10-day AE bidding window itself (not the conversion period) is after 1/1/15.
