Quote: also remember United has over 400 retirement every single year right now. In comparison to our 100 something retirement we have. Just sayin
Trust me after 12 years at United before Delta (not as a pilot) and after a bad merger from a culture POV (united in name only, sad. Wonder why the Continental name is an *) Wall Street likes it, just ask the geniuses at motley fools. Employees are not anywhere close to working together. Sort of Like making your kid and your new step son behave and be nice to each other on a long car ride while the slimy dad shows off to his new wife. We have a very good thing here, and most of all we don't have schmucksik as a CEO, will it get better? I hope for a lot of my friends there it does. Still a shaky foundation and lousy customer service. Pretty soon the idea of a good product hast to match the hype with leadership and execution.

We are way ahead of that, now C2015! Let's get rewarded!

United Air Lines pilots and Iphones.
Capt: It looks longer when you hold it vertical.
Quote: We will retire 240 this year and at least 360 next year. Check out the actual retirements on the DALPA website in the R & I section.
DAL retirments in 2013 were 85% less than UAL, 72% less in 2014, and will be 60% less in 2015. UAL has had (since 2013) and will continue to have linear retirments of aprox 400 per year off the top, but DAL is more parabolic peaking in 2022.

2013
UAL= 399 DAL=56

2014
UAL=419 DAL=121

2015
UAL=382 DAL=169

UAL wide body bids are for retirments. Plus UAL has a lot more wide bodies than Delta. (UAL 747, 777, 764, 787 total 123 & DAL 747, 777, 764 330 = 87)

DAL AEs have been mostly for narrow body growth and some retirements, but UAL has been mostly for top end retirements and some minimal narrow body growth.

PS At UAL 747, 777, 787 and 764 pay ONE RATE! So if you figure 8 (IDK if 8 is right probly higher) crews per a/c, that means there are about 580 higher paying wide body jobs at UAL then at DAL. IF DAL 764/330 rate was 777/747 rate there would be about 840+ higher paying jobs at DAL.

UAL did not have the mass exodus of 2000 pilots like Delta south did on the verge of Bankruptcy. Delta ended up with a lot of younger guys on wide bodies because of this. Minus that Delta's numbers would be more similar to UAL's.

I love it when I hear this from a North guy. Like I wasn't on a widebody years before the 'mass exodus'. But our 'Widebodies', according to them when this comes up, were 767's, which new hire pilots have held and continue to hold. If you're talking the Northwest definition of "Widebody", then no, there weren't a lot, or any, 'younger guys' on the 777 or 764, on the verge of bankruptcy.

All I did was move backwards in the seat I've held since before Sept 11, until about a year ago, but you'd think I flat out stole it from a NW DC-9 guy. Never gets old!

How the hell did you turn finis' quote into a N/S issue?

Can we please not rehash the SLI again?
