That's actually a significant improvement for LA 73 bubbas.

True true. But I have to say, I'd rather have a 13:45 3 day with one leg out, 30 hours, one leg home, and easy commutes on both sides; than a 15:45 3 day with 3 legs for 8:40 block on day one, and 3 legs for 8:45 block on day 3!!

But I'm all about working less; and maybe making more, or just a wee bit less. IMO, if I work 50% as hard but still make 70% the $$, it's a total win. I can go cut some neighbor's yard or get a paper route for the difference in beer money if I really must

edit--- or get a part time gig driving a truck, in keeping with today's thread hot topic! But only a wide-body Peterbilt, I won't drive one of them RJ International Harvester, the crew rest facility and internet on them is heinous.

The trip you just described would pay at least 17:25 even before the ADG changed. The downside is it doesn't pay any different if you do the flying on day 1 and 2 of a 2 day, or day 1 and 3 of a 3 day with a 30 hr layover.

The problem I have with the ADG is that the 30hr layover on the trip still has no value if you average over 5:15 on the other days. It just takes another day away from home to earn it. We need some type of calander day minimum to make that time have a value.

Offered a 12dy gs at beginning of the year that coincided with a 5dy pvr mini-vacay. Told spousal unit that it would pay about 33K and asked what she thought... She responded "have a nice trip... we'll let you know how pvr is!"

The LAX 73N Category has a trip that signs in day 1 at 22:40 flies 1 red-eye leg, lays over 23:25, returns on the morning of day 3 at 11:00.

This trip operates daily. It used to be in open time almost every day - I am curious to see what happens in November.

Like Buzz said - the 5:15 is a huge improvement for us LAX guys.

Wow, you're not kidding. 7 of the first 9 trips in LA open time are that trip. Pays 10:32 now.

Operates all month in Nov the same times, pays 15:45.

Might be a bit more desirable...

LOL, excellent math point! My made up example wasn't a good one, 17 block is 17 block heh. I guess I'm really thinking about 3 legs of like 1.5h each but with sits and a long duty day...

Anyways, any more analysis or thoughts on Nov bidpack differences, folks?

^^^This is something I absolutely agree with. Exaggerating for effect is counterproductive and dilutes the message.

Several frequent posters can't seem to help themselves though. That fish is always THIIIIIIIIIIIIISS BIG!! The comments just make a mess of things and accomplish nothing

A greenslip with conflict is like getting your dropped trip paid for, then getting a whiteslip. The only time I ever see it is when the trip is for pilots with special qualifications. An example would be a trip bringing an MD-90 back from China that we just bought. Only certain pilots can do that so they will buy those pilots' trips. Other than that green slips with conflict do not happen.

$10,000 to miss trick or treating? Please. For $10,000 I'd dress up like Mr. Monopoly and pelt my kids with Mars Bars and Kandy Korn on my way to the airport.

Nobody on their death beds wishes they had more time to trick or treat. They want more booze, chicks and rock music. That takes money and the best way to get that money is greenslips.
You would be amazed how much something as little as trick or treating means to a toddler. Where do you draw the line? Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries? Serious question. Do you live to work or work to live? I work to live. Days off are just too precious especially with young kids. Now when the kids are older and in college my attitude might change. Certain things in life are priceless. That means that I wouldn't trade those moments for any amount of money. I am obviously in the minority. I probably fly less than the majority of the pilots at this company.
