At American/US Airways, the a330 and the 767-4 (a paper airplane only) pay the same as the 777 as they are all in the same band.

This is how American gets paid significantly more than our a330 pilots.

Think this will surface as an issue soon?

This information was selectively omitted from the DALPA Contract Comparison.

I'll bet when the RFP comes out and IF it includes a330's, this turd will float to the surface.

Can you define turd in this context?

What rate is that? APC shows AMR pays $230/hr while we pay $248. What are the correct numbers?

Not yet. The Pay Banding Comparison on page 14 shows AA's 777/787/330 pay band at $236.93, while we're at $255.28, both rates effective 1/1/2015. I see that, in 2016, their rate is predicted to go up to $269.31.

I see what you mean. The Pay Banding Comparison on page 14 shows AA's 777/787/330 pay band at $236.93, but the 765/330 pay chart on page 15 does not include AA's 330s.

If you can bid a trip that carries in enough to put you above the ALV just bid RES and put the days after your vacation. Then call in full for the month after your trip. This will also pay more than RES guarantee dependent upon the ALV.

Edit: You need to be careful to make sure your carry-in trip is high enough credit to exceed your adjusted guarantee for the month, otherwise you will still be on the hook for the RSV days. Just something to be aware of.

For example, I had 6 days of VAC in Nov with an ALV of 73:45. My RES Guarantee for the month was something like 60 hours. With 2 weeks of VAC I would guess a pilot's guarantee would be somewhere in the mid 40's. That is the threshold you need to hit to be full, which requires a pretty big carry-in trip.

Not saying it's impossible (depending on the category), just make sure you run the math before you commit to this strategy or you may find yourself sitting reserve over the holidays.

To clarify: a RSV pilot is only full when they reach THEIR (adjusted) guarantee for the month. You don't have to make it all the way to ALV. However, if you are 1 minute shy of your RSV guarantee, they can assign a trip that can take you as high as ALV+15.

Munich, Salzburg

Recap of the trip. Flew to Munich, did a day of octoberfesting there...time well spent? He'll to the yeah!

Drove to Garmisch and checked into the Adelweiss (mil) hotel, amazing deal in that part of the world, super nice facility. Went downtown to partay, schweinhoxen big potatoe dumpling verrrry good beer and apple streudel. Tough mountain biking day, hiked, biked in the afternoon went to the top of the auspitz very cool place with a lookout stage over nothing. More beer. And got in the giant hot tub.
Biked to the eagles nest staging area and went up. Had a beer, took a look around. Rode to the bus station to catch a ride to Garmisch, that was a goat rope.
Did a bunch of riding and touristy stuff around Garmisch, there are never ending trails in that part of Europe, you can go anywhere on a bike.
Went to Salzburg for our last day and spent the night and next day. Thoroughly enjoyed the augustiner monks beer there with 300 of our new closest friends. Absolutely an inspiring city.
On to Munich and flew home. Ate a lot of awesome food, drank a lot of great beer, took the family to a bunch of cool places and needed at least another week there.

...your friends and neighbors probably think this is a typical trip!
