New hire here.
I have my CQ training in January and looking for some ideas on how to bid the rest of my schedule. I'm not totally up-to-speed on how the Raw Scores work, but is it common for guys to bid reserve during their training month. I'm on the 73 and if I bid reserve I would be fairly high on the list for reserve guys. Thanks! MCFlyer |
Jumpseat help please!
I need to list for a Frontier flight. I went to the ALPA jumpseat page and read how to do it, then went to the site: ifc.id90.com and entered the username and password that ALPA says to use on their "jumpseat information" page (jumpseatinfo.org/jumpseatresources ) CANT LOG IN! This seems to happen every time I try to use this POC id90 site. I seem to recall getting an email sometime recently with specifics for frontier js listing, but can't find it and the ALPA stuff doesnt work. Any help would be appreciated, PM me! RK EDIT-------Nevermind... I putzed around and entered the code they gave us for AA, it worked. Also, the cass/non-cass listing code they gave a bunch of info on at the ALPA site doesn't work, it lists you incorrectly with the tool anyways, no chance to choose. We'll see how it works. Anyone ever js on Frontier before, how did it go, and gotchas? |

More great suggestions on how the language should read. It boggles the mind doesn't it. Makes you wonder whose side the MEC administration is on.
100% spot on. I'm guessing you're in ATL? Carl No. George is a red-eye specialist. In other words, LAX 73N. Scoop |
3. Management doesn't have to negotiate any JV agreements whatsoever...but they do have to abide by our overall Scope language that mandates maintaining a block hour percentage equal to what existed prior to any JV.
This statement by Carl has a huge mistake in it. There is no block hour percentage in the current contract. There is a block hour floor of the existing amount of block hours to the UK. Under the current contract VA can have unlimited growth with Delta getting nothing. |

After reading this, I have to ask. When Delta purchased 49% of VA, did that money come out of our yearly profits, and thus our profit sharing?

So, the purchase of 49% of VA didn't cost us, as Delta pilots, money in some way?
OTOH, no one can predict whether this will increase/decrease our own flying. I suspect it will ultimately increase it as it builds a stronger company. Others only look at it one dimensionally and assume big, bad, Delta is gonna transfer all our flying to VA. I respectfully disagree. |
Five classes of seating coming in the spring.....Sooo..Will the seats be getting bigger or smaller? If you buy class 5 seat, they send you a grocery box to practice sitting in.

Jumpseat question.....
Going to Myrtle Beach for a few days of golf. Loads look tight. Flying on our own equipment (717). Can I get my jump seat pass at the ticket counter and check my bags like a regular nonrev? Thanks |

Here's the readers digest version of this:
1. Joint Ventures make Delta a HUGE amount of net profit. 2. Our union's main thesis is that increased profitability leads to increased good things for pilots. 3. Management doesn't have to negotiate any JV agreements whatsoever...but they do have to abide by our overall Scope language that mandates maintaining a block hour percentage equal to what existed prior to any JV. 4. Our union feels it's a better tactic to give up a portion of our flying share in order to achieve new contract language that provides for new minimum levels that didn't exist before. Even if those new minimum "guarantees" represent a reduction of what we're presently doing. 5. Our union is very concerned that pilots will be angry if they learn we're giving up part of what we're doing now in order to have a lower guarantee that didn't exist before. 6. Council 44 and the MEC administration do not want a repeat of the FAR 117 process whereby members forced the negotiating committee back to the table. 7. Council 44 and the MEC administration have decided the best way to prevent a repeat of the FAR 117 process is to hide key data from the membership until after the TA is passed. 8. Council 44 and the MEC administration didn't think someone like Georgrtg could pull the data together in time to affect the outcome. 9. After TA passes, Council 44 and the MEC administration will strongly focus on the new global flying share minimum that was supposedly achieved and tell the whiners to get more involved in the process next time. It seems like every JV we sign is a broken record, the contract language isn't there so lets settle for less flying than we do now in order to put a floor on it. |
