There is a frequent poster on this thread who goes by the name Timbo.

When you set up your user name, you probably tried to enter Timbo before you successfully entered Timbo1. There was a reason why Timbo was taken.

The original Timbo is a bad mamba jamba. Once he sees you on his front lawn, he will kick your ass, sonny.

The update from the MEC doesn't say our Opener was given to, or discussed with the executives. It says they addressed the MEC. My understanding is they've addressed the MEC about 8 times in the past 3 years.

There was a LCA meeting a couple of days before and I've heard Richard Anderson addressed them, too. Some of the stuff I heard from that meeting sounded very specific.

Exchange of Openers is in 2 weeks. It's a formal process that is documented by the NMB. I expect to see our Opener around that time. Personally, I'm more interested in the results of the negotiation.

To answer your original question, the first step would be to fill out an application and list your uncle as a reference. Then the Application will email him with a recommendation form letter that he fills out and emails back.

I'm sure there is probably another avenue for current and retired Pilots to recommend family members but I can't help you there.

Another strategy would be to show up in your Captain uniform at your shiny 777 in ATL and see if anyone notices. Just tell them you're the real Timbo. No really, I am. Just don't ask anyone where the bunk room is because every 777 pilot knows where that is. Just follow your FO when your break begins the first time.
