A possible need to hire that doesn't come to fruition is better than a possible need to furlough whether one happens or not. I'm sure the company would give anything to run a mock post soc ae just for planning purposes.

I don't think we'll get the N policy unless the FAs vote in a union.

IMHO, we use up tons of our negotiating capital for the non-unionized FAs with every single "perk" we negotiate. The company has to factor in the cost of giving the FAs everything we negotiate, to keep the stews happy and non-unionized.

No way the company can afford give the FAs that call in honest policy, so we won't get either.

Once the FAs start negotiating for themselves, hopefully it will open up more room for us to negotiate improvements since we will no longer be effectively negotiating for us AND the FAs.

I think I'll donate to the FA union drive.

I agree that if the FA's were unionized it would be easier for us to get it. I hate the fact that we negotiate all of their added perks. If they knew that they would never want AFA in!

From the PWA (Sec 22-F)

12. A pilot who holds an MD will, without regard to the standing bids of senior pilots, be
reinstated to the category from which he was displaced if:
a. a vacancy is posted in such category and the earliest conversion date stated in the posting is within the 180 day period following the conversion date of his MD,
b. his standing bid indicates a request for such reinstatement, and
c. such vacancy has not been filled by reinstatement of a pilot senior to him who was also awarded an MD from such category

“Category” means the combination of a pilot’s position and base. (22-A7)

So you only have rights to DTW320B.

Forgot.

This AE is going to be very telling in terms of our needed staffing. They need to know were to put new meat. Now if they are adding positions and not taking away that is great. What will be real telling is the Foretasted Staffing levels published post AE and where the holes are once the awards are posted. That will give us a true idea if they have decided to pull the trigger on hiring. It is easier to hire than down bid pilots. It is also easier not to hire than to hire a few 100 and then shudder the doors again.

When I spoke to the gal (former NWA planner) that is taking over Crew Staffing a few weeks ago, she mentioned that one of the big benefits of our old APA monthly bidding was that they had a pretty good idea as to where people wanted to go and was a relatively good planning tool for them whereas the AE process has them totally in the dark (especially once we have combined AE's)

Do the north F/As have a me too clause in their contract?

ACL, is that the pic showing in detail how the Geico lizard got his current gig? I guess there's a price to pay to rise to the top.
