I could be wrong but I think the 73's will keep doing some Hawaii especially in the summer while the 75's do some of the lower density Europe routes.
I'm flying with a 737 LCA and according to him and from the latest big meeting he went to, the company was even strongly looking at the -900ER flying some North Atlantic/Western Europe routes (Shannon, Lisbon for example) out of BOS and JFK. But, along with the Hawaii flying, that plan has been completely mixed due to the plane's lack of performance. According to him, Hawaii will not be in the plans going forward. Anyone else ever wonder why some of these things are surprising? Pretty sure Hawaii hasn't moved in quite some time.
Just a guess but it may be more about maximizing revenue which is all the company seems to be focused on right now. If they can do this better with other aircraft then so be it. What a waste since they probably spent more of the ETOPS birds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

We've (LAX 7ER)have already gotten Kona back from the 737 in the June bid package. Winter is where the 737 has trouble with winds so if they're already shifting summer flying to the 7ER the writing is on the wall. Word is 737 gone from Hawaii by the end of the year. This spring they were equipment subbing up to the 757 via green slip because the 900's couldn't hack it.

They could've asked Continental 10 years ago. I remember my friends there having the exact same issues.
Tell me we didn't just read the brochure. |

of the winds that impact the -900...the chronic TW takeoff in lax is probably the most damaging to its performance. not to worry....word is the 73-10/A-321 will hack it just fine. |
