Quote: I honestly think mil folks would feel more guilty about giving this "eff you" to the company if the company wasn't so frequently saying "eff you" to the mil folks.
This was ten years ago. They were not saying anything at the time. I suspect it was this type of behavior that led to the change in how the company handles mil leave.
Quote: I'm not saying it doesn't happen and that some cases aren't valid.
However, sometimes when you dig a little, you find that many of these "injustices" are a result of some pretty shady use of mloa. In a situation like this, you're not necessarily giving an "eff you" to the company, you're giving and eff you to the pilot that has to go fly your trips for you.
false. one here or there, absolutely. but for the majority it was straight harassment. The good news is that a new guy has taken over in that department and the issues have exponentially decreased now that he is at the helm.
Quote: Then another problem with the 330 is when we go to AMS (which we do a lot) we often lose one FO and get different one,
Maybe I'm dense, , but how does that help the company?

The 3 man crew is still a 3 man crew.....?

Did LHR a bunch in Nov. and swapped f/o #2 every day....

....and, i practically had to beg the f/o's to take a landing!
Quote: Every time I have been to the sim for currency on reserve it has been a good deal. Extra pay, less availability for trips and short call. Going non current is a non issue. Nearly identical sim profile. Non current is possibly my favorite status.
I’m in this boat for January. Best to give availability days on reserve days I’m assuming?
If your going non current then by definition your not working much. I would try and go on x days and get a few extra dollars since you probably won't be working too hard after the sim either.
P.S. If by chance they do not put you on the schedule and you go non current, I recommend no reminder phone calls. This assumes you filled out your pop up availability templet.

Can a pilot do a currency sim on a vacation day? Or is that prohibited the same as picking up a WS/GS on vacation?
Cant do anything on vacation
Quote: Cant do anything on vacation
at first i was wondering why it was even a policy, then i saw how important it is that we have to protect ourselves from ourselves.

No, but they were willing to move your vacation to facilitate their sim schedule.
