I contacted ALPA about this a few months back. From what I was told...

320-330 - one year
330-350 - one year
320-350 - two year

How about 320B to 330B?

Thanks

Especially knowing the reason I got the trip is the company can't figure out how to properly staff the airline, and I'm just a cost saving technique.
Set Condition 3 days of Reserve. Voila!...never a worry about those nasty long trips.

Not possible for an entire month. 3-99-5 makes it impossible to never give more than 3 days of availability in a non-vacation month.

To be fair, CQ helps facilitate it just like vacation. An extra X day due to staffing helps too.

Regardless, even if PBS partially ignores the set condition and gives you one block of 4-days (if it’s an extra X day month) or two blocks of 4-days (in a normal X day month), you’ve still mitigated any of the long trips.

Agreed. Personal choice/strategy whether you go for 2 4-day availability periods or a single 8 day. My point at the beginning is most NB pilots aren't expecting a 6 day trip to even be a possibility, so the 8 days of availability wasn't that big a deal.

I'd really like to see us eliminate covering trips with out of base reserves. If we do use OOB RES, then let's at least get them premium pay for the convenience to the company.

Or make those trips not reserve only. Let the outsourced base have full access to them for WS or GS.

So you advocate letting scheduling decide which base gets GS's? Scheduling supervisor: "The sick leave rate is to high and short call response times to long. Move all potential DTW GS's to ATL."

No, I'm saying get rid of "reserve only" coverage awards that go out of base. If the trip has to be covered out of base for a reserve to do it continue down the ladder in order.

Not now part of the PWA, I know. But it could be. Low priority, rare event but still a thorn.

That gives scheduling full control over which bases get GS's. I prefer the current system. If they move the trip to another base it has to be returned to the original base if a reserve can't cover it. Using your method they could also shop WS's and check every base system wide to see who had a WS in meeting the trip requirement and move it there. The company would leap all over this change if we offered it.
