Hey, does anyone know where to find the special assessment check off for the Cobra benefit to our furlough guys to be taken directly out of our pay...thought I saw it somewhere, just finished looking on the Union website..no luck, headed to the company’s next.

Log in to ALPA and go to my account then my info. You should see something that says assessment check off. If that has a Y I think you are good to go. If not, you can edit that.

For all military retirees, got mail from Tricare informing me I had to sign up for Tricare Select during open enrollment period and that there is a now a fee associated with healthcare.

A few pages of discussion on it over in the military section.

PB day gurus.... I’ve got 2 available. Was assigned a trip on 31 oct I’d like to dump. If I use PB day over spill over will it use just 1, or both days? (Only 31st in oct bid period) Day one of trip would pay good, day 2 is a 30 hr layo.

Surprised no one has answered this. Think the problem here, according to the SRH, is that "credit resulting from application of duty rigs is always tied to the last duty period of the rotation." So should you drop those 2 days on the last two days of said rotation assuming a 3-day rotation, adding trip credit to the block time from the last day? Sorry I just answered this with another question. Hopefully someone else will answer this definitively.

Both if you use iCrew. The fact that it is a spill trip won’t change the application of PB days. Contractually you have to place all available PB days days (up to the length of the trip), starting on day 1 of the trip. In your case with with no block time on day 2 your second PB day pays nothing. However...

Option 1: call scheduling and ask to place 1 PB day on 31 Oct. I have done it before and been successful, but it depends on the scheduler (although that was pre-covid).

Option 2: if a 1-day trip is available in OT, pick it up and use a PB day on it (remember to check for sufficient reserve coverage to drop or be ready to use APD/IVD). Use the remaining PB day on the 31 Oct trip.

Details are in the scheduling reference handbook, p. 33, or ALPA scheduling alert 19-12.

Word on the street is they are going to take a page from the "Thank You" livery and paint a plane with "F@#$ You" with all the 1941 names of the furloughs on it.

well, there is probably only room for the 600 or so Names that they are cheating out of one months pay....

well...getting closer to that elusive 200 k number of posts, then I think that’ll be the end of the thread, much like the end of the internet....takes too long to load.
