Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

Ferd,
I'm not aware of any thing like that. If you bid an aircraft change, other than from the 767 domestic to international and vice versa, you incur a 2 year hard freeze from date of the award. Moving from a M88 base to a base that flies both the M88/90 may also incur a shorter training freeze, not sure though.
So if you think you are within 2 years of bidding Capt some where, be very careful what you bid!!

I should say again that I am not aware of anything in the contract that says you can bid FO to Capt and tag on any remaining freeze to the current freeze. I would have to look it up, but with my mad cow, I'd probably forget it by the time I was back here to post it!!!!!
DYODD!!!!!!
Boy, the posts are coming hot and heavy, It's hard to keep up (not keep it up)!!!! Thanks for all the replys.

On another note, has any one been informed about when to expect a hard or electronic copy of the JCBA? I like to carry one with me for reference.

Denny,
Thats ok, my current lifestyle is only going to allow me to do widebody FO and call it a career. I'm way too lazy to go do a capt check out, much less taxi big airplanes around in the dark. Not to mention I'd actually have to read the FOM.
Why I like the Asia 757 trips. 80ish hours credit, 40ish hours hard fly. The new Delta will have airplane options to fix that, so time to move on. Hurry on that Saipan tour!

What would be a reason not to do monthly AE bidding?
I mean to me DAL would've solved the ATL MD88 B shortage a lot sooner had they had it, so it seems like it'd be a good thing for them and we're* all for it.
*We're = presumptive guess on my part that most pilots would want it and stop having to guess how long we might have to wait before we can bid an AE again.

I hope the TWG looks hard at the monthly AE too. Lots of flexibility.
The bid cards will be another can of worms. Ours are clean and you can just leave them standing unless your situation changes, but then again we have seperate block and reserve categories.
Like I said, can of worms..........

Ferd,
Right after I got hired a Capt saw me doing changes to the FOM (like a good newhire should!). He said "What are you doing that for. Since you don't need to carry it until your a captain, why don't you just buy a new one when you upgrade and save yourself alot of trouble?" I took those words to heart and saved myself ALOT of trouble and, wouldn't you know it, about 6 months before I upgraded, Delta came out with a whole reprint of the FOM and I didn't have to pay a dime!!!! I was in pilot heaven!!!!
I've been to a few places in Asia but not Saipan and am looking forward to it if I can. I used to go to Narita on the MD-11 and enjoyed. I especially liked eating at a place called the "Cafe Bon." I think you guys refer to it as the "spiral staircase."
One of the great things about this merger is that all of us will have the world at our fingertips, new destinations to discover and we get paid for it!!!! I don't know about you but I like to go to new places, I'm a tourist at heart, but after I go 20 or 30 times it gets to be old hat and I'd like to go some place new.
Mad Cow kicking in, I'm definately looking forward to the Saipan tour!! Hopefully I can reciprocate somewhere else and I'll at least buy the BEER!!
