Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
I think we should sell them to Spirit.
what about AMRs ATI fight to tie up with BA?

Well there I was over in Asia back in January reading from the usual "in crowd" of relative new hires (hired within the last three years or so) tell us all how Anderson and et all were on their way to Japan and of the ensuing press conference of our new venture with JAL. For those of us that have been here longer I say what I was told years ago by a seasoned vet, don't believe it until it's painted in your colors and your rear end is flying it. The guys on this thread that profess to know really don't. I know they are only trying to connect the dots. Well maybe they should turn the page around.
No offense.
Enuff,
I would say you are correct if Pilots on this Forum were taking action on the rampant speculation - which would be pretty stupid. On the other hand there is nothing wrong with keeping in tune with the "possibilities" for the sake of supposition.
Scoop - Pondering the possiblities

It's so easy for most of these guys to ignore this statement because they were not even on the property during the bankruptcy to experience Mr. Bastian's outright disdain for this pilot group! Certainly not my choice for CEO...
I'm getting word with the conditions the DOT has approved the slot swap, DL and US want out of it.
1/3 of US's slots that they are getting in DCA would have to be sold (re: jetblue) and 16% of DL slots that we are getting in LGA would have to be sold.
Freaking rediculous.

Why in the hell do we have to sell slots??
Is this Schumer coming to Jetblues defense? Whats jetblue going to give up in JFK? From each according to his ability to each according to his unearned wants.

Delta responds to DOT ruling on New York slot transaction
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
February 9, 2010
Delta expressed disappointment Tuesday in a proposed ruling by the U.S. Department of Transportation on a previously announced slot transaction with US Airways at New York-LaGuardia and Washington-Reagan National airports.
“Delta and US Airways are disappointed in the DOT’s decision that, if implemented, would negatively impact the consumer and economic benefits created by the proposed transaction by divesting 16% of the transaction at New York’s LaGuardia Airport and 33% of the transaction at Washington-National,” the airlines said in a joint statement. “Chief among those benefits is the ability for both airlines to maintain and add new nonstop service between two of America’s top business markets and small- and medium-sized communities across the United States.
“We appreciate the thousands of employees, customers and elected and community leaders who have voiced their support for our transaction. However, we expect that if this order is implemented as proposed the transaction will not go forward and significant consumer benefits will never be realized. Both airlines will review the DOT’s proposed rulemaking to determine our next steps.”
In August, US Airways agreed to transfer 125 operating slot pairs at LaGuardia to Delta. In exchange, Delta agreed to transfer 42 operating slot pairs to US Airways at Washington-National.
Since October, Delta employees have sent nearly 14,000 e-mails and letters to members of Congress as well as the DOT, the U.S. Department of Justice and the Obama administration, urging support for the transaction.
The public will have 30 days to comment on the proposed ruling, after which the DOT will issue a final decision.

I have got to ask, what successes? Do you mean Anderson being picked for a top ten slot in the 10 greediest men in America for taking 28 million out of Delta in 26 months while the airlines financial performance lagged the industry. We have yet to turn a real dime of profit since we left chapter 11. We have kept our cash on hand up by borrowing more money. There is one measure of success for a company. A real and sustained profit. It hasn't happened here yet!
I think we (LCC/DAL) should do a no cash swap of our LGA and DCA slots to Spirit in exchange for LA America authorities.
