Easily amendable in C2015 with a 4,8,3,3% raises offset by remaining 70 seaters traded 1-1 to 76 seaters and a reduction in profit sharing to keep it cost neutral to Delta:D
Also, how come JG put out the weekly update vs SD?

She was an Auburn grad! Yup! http://www.gannett-cdn.com/media/USA...e3bc4da4bf3083 I'd have to see more. http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...kdpKR1kNpOh8XK Okay now I see, definitely an Auburn girl. Oh well. It's unfortunate, but it happens. Cool thing was while he was throwing incomplete passes at the end of the game in 2010, she was cheering for Cam and company in the greatest comeback ever. :D 28-27. |

I would not say that. The dispatch reliability of the aircraft has been nothing short of spectacular for a new jet. The only other aircraft in its league at introduction was the 777. Its way above the A380. Its also meeting all its promised fuel burn targets and in fact is beating them. AvWeek had a excellent article on the aircraft now that its in service.
Too bad new aircraft have to go through a "reliabilty" stage before they are a proven commodity. |

Boeing 787 at Boston airport returns to gate with fuel leak - Yahoo! News I wish someone (from the union) would diplomatically interview RA, on a fact finding mission, and ask him to be intellectually honest with the pilot group. I would like to know what his plans are for the Delta pilot group and if his goal is to try to become a NWA/Virtual Airline? I want to know if I am going to have a great future at Delta or an anemic one? I keep waiting for that "great" news that I thought we would hear after the contract was accepted but all I hear is: downsizing and cutbacks. I'm feeling a bit jealous of others' seniority progression, aircraft orders and career advancements (HA/AK/VA/Emirates/UA etc)..I really do worry about a merger with HA or AK because tHey hired numerous pilots from 2002-2007, the era where Delta and NWA were stagnant. While I don't doubt what you say, where does AvWeek get their info? The last thing I heard was the 787 wasn't meeting any of its fuel burn numbers, but that was over a year ago.
Too bad new aircraft have to go through a "reliabilty" stage before they are a proven commodity. "The 787 is indeed the nicest handling and most docile handling Boeing jetliner I've yet flown. Enhancements in the companies FBW flight-control system increase safety margins and make the aircraft impressively pleasant to hand fly. The aircraft can be flown with equal ability from either seat because the left and right sides have the same access to displays, controls and tools, including left and right HUD's, EFB's and steering tillers. Situational awareness and crew resource management are top notch because of moving and interconnected control yokes and rudder pedals, along with back-driven throttles and speed brake handle. Admittedly, the aircraft entered service three years later then planned. But, judging on performance, it was worth the wait." Avweek is noted for unbiased reviews and I have read others from this test pilot that were far less flattering for other jets. |

My FO started screaming for me to run!! I ran into the street in front of some moving cars which separated me from the thugs. This went down right in front of the hotel. The section 8 housing/dump that was near the hotel has since been demolished. There seems to be less thuginess but I still don't like that layover.

I dropped my subscription after that. The mag was always kinda spendy, and naturally, when their subscription people called to bug me to re-up, I told them that my job had been outsourced, and could no longer afford their publication. Nu |

The fuel burn target was a 20 percent improvement over the 767 on a 3000 mile flight. The improvement actually gets better then that at longer ranges up to 6000 miles. They have met that target. In addition the AvWeek test pilot described the aircraft as one of the best flying airliners ever. He really liked how the aircraft is designed to keep the pilot in the loop on everything that is happening. Here is his summary.

Gotta love it. You have a good hotel for an overnight, BHM, and they switch it to a an absolutely lousy location. Somewhere in the contract it must say "must be near convention center, ensure no restaurants within a reasonable distance except in hotel, and be around nothing else, crime not a factor..."
I thought the Hotel was the Doubletree 5 points area. Did we go back? We were at the Sheraton for a 30+ hour layover with the band "Widespread Panic." When the A line asked who these strange dudes were on our airplane, I told her "Widespread Panic." She then got on the PA and welcomed aboard "White Spread Panties." Captain asked, did you tell her to say that? No, I think she misunderstood me. They had a weekend concert series at the Jefferson Center across the street from the Sheraton. Guests of the hotel were smoking crack in the halls and making meth on the property. By the end of the weekend a few were running naked through the halls. One young twenty something hottie looked great Friday night. We saw her Saturday and she had used the restroom all over herself and was nearly comatose. People were beating on the door at 2am looking for "dude." Our uniforms stunk like we had been through a fire. (Pot is at least fragrant, burned aluminum foil just stinks) I wrote it up. The response from the Hotel management sealed the deal ... I think there were 55 arrests on and around the Hotel property (not sure of the exact number) and they refused to call the cops on things going on inside the rooms. The next flight out we had a regional guy on the jumpseat. He said his Company moved them to the Doubletree at 5 Points and I think we followed. Our Flight Attendants gave up early and all of them went to a friend's house and slept on the floor in the living room. (If we had known what we were in for, we would have joined them) The Jefferson Center prides itself on hosting "interesting" acts. IMHO, they host stuff that is too interesting for a flight crew to be near. |

The fuel tanks on the 787 are unbelievable POS's. The vendor keeps delivering junk and boeing people have to spend 4 man days per tank to get them to seal in final assembly.
The -9 and -10 will be good. Meanwhile with the exception of ULH missions the -8 weighs roughly 40,000#s more than the 767-300ER with roughly the same floorspace. That's a lot of engine efficiencies used to carry the extra structure on most missions... Cheers George |

It's about all you need on a domestic overnight. Sometimes I think our RJ overnights were better. Sure we didn't have downtown NYC/BOS/SFO, but hey, I don't get that anyways on the 88. |

Yo fellas,
I've been off for a while so I have some late house cleaning to do..... First and foremost, Congratulations 80! With a new baby and midnight feedings, it looks like we will see a lot more of this guy... http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/.../ladiesman.jpg Except, your glass won't have cognac in it, it will be formula now. Congrats again , 80. :D |

Buzz & Denny, Congrats! My Bears blew it again. When the Seahawks beat the Packers in week two, everyone thought it was a replacement referee fluke. But, maybe not so much. Remach in the NFC championship, maybe? College Football: Just think, if Ohio State weren't on probation, Alabama wouldn't have even been in the title game. Notre Dame might have won the national championship agains them, but didn't belong in the same state as Alabama last night. Good thing we get a playoff system next year. |
