Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Okay Satch, let me guess, they're showing Alabama's scrimmage on ESPN? So did Alabama win? Did they fake a punt in the first quarter again? Did they luck out and knock out the other teams QB and still almost lose? Let me guess, they played safe mode because they were up by 18 at half and almost blew it against a true freshman QB?
I wouldn't worry about Auburn. They're not out for national attention. Just you.

You got that right!!! The difference between and NHL charter and an NBA charter is amazing. For one the NHL requires their players to travel in suits and ties, while the NBA players can come on the plane with athletic pants and the crotch dragging on the floor. It's unreal.

word on the street, bars, and back alleys is that motherD may hire up to 300 if that Saudi MadDog deal goes down, any truth,or is it just the usual "friend of a friend ,of a friend" fancy ?
We may hire, but it will, in all likelihood, be to cover next year's spring/summer schedule. We already have a large enough fleet (considering underutilized and mothballed aircraft) to expand our schedule considerably.

Yeah, they play for some really big pots. I remember seeing one for 20K!

The one thing I don't mind about the NBA charter flights is the food.

Maybe... but this volcano thing is getting pretty bad to talk about hiring... I thought that volcanos were supposed to be fun! Like this: ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=sxuaUaS4rU0 )
OK, I planned on going home this morning until Crew Scheduling gave me an 1830 show so I've got crashpad appreciation time. Let's talk about this volcano.
We just went through one of the worst(if not the worst) economic downturns ever without furloughing. Capacity was drawn down what, 20%? We are now starting to see the Pacific loads pick back up, domestic is running at 85% load factor or higher, and oil is behaving for us right now making our hedges a profitable buy.
So unless this volcano keeps ash in the air for 2 years, I can't see the need to furlough. Maybe if it was less then 200 pilots, but any more then that and I don't think they will get the ROI. Maybe Slow, sailingfun, alfa, or ACL can chime in.
Actually, anybody chime in. That's why I started this conversation.
