So new news? Is that news about New? I heard some news about New.

  • You tell scheduling that you will be traveling in (ie. 1200 is when you will be there.)
  • You duty period for FAR purposes still started at 1000.
Right?
My understanding is that is right, your SC started at 1000, not 1200. I guess if someone wants to call scheduling they should be able to tell us.

It says: Inform Crew Scheduling if traveling to base to stand short call that contact may not be possible for the
fi rst 2 hours. Not, tell us your commuting in and we'll move your SC back 2 hours. I think this is strictly common sense rule to have, we give you 2 hours to get to the airport and you're saying fine, I'll be at the airport ready to go if you need me, you don't need to call me or get upset if I don't answer on first contact.

You can read about the whole thing here:
FindLaw | Cases and Codes

While ALPA intervened on the appeal to the Circuit Court, it's well worth noting that it was the APA who got off the pot and got us off 24 reserve periods. Kudos to them.

Nu
thanks for the recap Nu.

....And didn't the APA really start to get moving in that direction in response to Little Rock?

Thanks Ftb. I thought the Hulk was always mad.

New NEVER gets mad. (Ok, rarely.)

I may be totally wrong.
I believe we're on different discussions here. My point is that under the NWA way you got your pay bump once the first guy in your newhire class finished OE. In my case that date was on the 8th. Under the NWA way that pay bump would begin on the 1st of that month since the individual finished oe before the 15th. Now since DAL isnt giving us our longevity bumps at DOH like you guys and instead keeping us under the NWA way then i should get my bump on the 1st of said month that guy finishes OE. Some PMNWA types are concerned because they think DAL is giving the pay bumps on the date that that individual finishes OE instead of following the NWA procedure of beginning it on the first. Hence we'd get 2nd year for 8 days and then 3rd year for the remainder which is wrong. IF we're not getting the 3rd year bump on anything but the first then it WILL be an issue.

What you're saying is correct though, in that its a month lagging. The point is that for us pmnwa guys, we should get pay bumps starting on the 1st of the month if the guy in our class finished OE prior to the 15th.

NYC was the "original" 744 base when NW was the launch customer for Boeing.

This of course begs the question. Are the fNW recall rights still valid?

Just kidding.

As part of the 1993 concessions, NWA MEC allowed the entire NYC 744 base to be moved without any bids or displacements. There will be lots of DALN folks bidding NYC744.

These are for Duty, not SC, and not for the area that is not duty but not rest wrt SC.

That was talked about due to all of the cities in NYC that will be on it. Glad they are actually going to do it. It will keep the ER junior, but kill a lot of DH time for the 744 guys.

Along this line of thinking, I would "suspect" that other moves may be made as well. Them committing to the 744 NYC base means that marketing actually gave them a long term commitment to the 744 doing the flying there.
