60 second Authorized Personal Drop Primer:

Personal drops (PD) are unlimited but you need positive reserve coverage. The Authorized Personal Drop (APD) is basically a PD on steroids - it will work down to 25% coverage, but you only get 1 per anniversary year. There are certain major holidays restrictions with the APD, but if I wanted off for a restricted holiday I would still submit an APD and hope for the best.

APD example, 12 reserves required and 5 available. The PD would not work but the APD would. An APD is good for one regular pairing or up to 4 consecutive days of reserve coverage. Even if you only use your APD for 1 day of reserve coverage you are done with your APD for the year. You cannot pick on any kind of flying on days dropped with your APD.

Thanks Scoop. If I put in a PD today for the 9th, how far in advance do they work the request?

Yes, got it off drudge this morning. I wonder if we have crews stuck down there because of the volcano?

Speaking of pictures, here is one of Nu's car... he lives a double life:

They say it's 60m deep and 30m wide. I have no idea what that is in feet, but I'm sure NewK does and not only will he jump it, but he won't wait for an audience or a car. He'll do it on principle.

There is a troubling trend with reserves - period. Why have an international reserve start at 4AM in NYC??? If it is for domestic flying, then maybe it should only last 12 hours?? Why is that they lately have started this "oh, it is his first day on reserve so let's give him a 5:00AM SC" ?? Why? I was treated far better at other and much smaller airlines than this. Anybody else have issues or is it just me?

60m is 200 feet.

FYI. -- NewK made the hole when he sneezed.

That's why I like the idea of your first day of reserve automatically being long call. I have suggested it to the LEC as a contract improvement for next time.

Heard that from a NYC AQFO.

I see the point that some are trying to make. This thread gets read by a lot more than DAL employees, and that has given many heartburn. I respect that.

No they didn't. They said to use discretion with the more sensitive info. Big difference.
