These new procedures create absolute havoc in the back of our aircraft and make our FA’s look like total buffoons (don’t even go there with me). If you think that is funny, then you don’t have a grasp of the total picture. We are only half of the front. The new procedures include separate carts and ultimately have doubled our passenger’s service time. Literally it is so bad, that the instigators of this absurd new service have already had so many passenger complaints that the company line is, “Well, if you can figure out how to do it better, then go ahead and do it.” Are you kidding me? Can you imagine if our flight ops department just threw up their hands and said that? “Well if you can figure out a better approach checklist, then just do it and let us know how it works out.” I’m serious when I say that this moronic service is going to drive many of our customers away. By the way, I just found out that our DAL FA’s assumed this idiotic service came from NWA’s and vice versa. Neither is correct. This is a completely new ill-conceived service of which neither side can be blamed for. We can once again safely lay blame at the idiots in charge of FA cabin service. Many of these personnel haven’t ever been a FA nor ever participated in a service at all. These are the dweebs making decisions about our cabin service. Because you probably don’t have a clue as to what is actually happening behind your closed door, you may not know that you should probably be apologizing to every passenger that exits your aircraft. I could give some ridiculous examples, but I think my point is already quite clear. Our inputs to management generally have some credibility and normally don’t go upon deaf ears. Just remember, after pushback, it is your aircraft. Do you really want to be in charge of such a disastrous evolution? I’m just saying.------------

P.S. OK Buzz, you are a hard act to follow. Keep em cumming.
Waves, I agree with you 100%. The train has jumped the tracks. Everywhere I've been the past two days, the FAs have been in an uproar about these procedures. Also, fleet isn't helping because the containers don't have the typical layouts that they used to ... and/or are missing stuff. One set of FAs told me that fleet (MSP) installed the drawers upside down, so when they were pulled out, the stuff fell on the floor. (I want to know, how did they get it in there?)

Anyhow, management need to wake up and see whats going on. Something's wrong ... very wrong.

Also, the formerDAL pilots aren't listing the lead former NWA FA into ACARs and thus they're aren't being paid properly. It is a bulletin that many have ignored. They are getting angry at us. It is so simple. I've had two captains now ask me "what are you doing?" ... "Im making sure the FAs are going to get paid" ... "Oh, we're supposed to do that????" Ugh

Buzz,

It was an electronic bulletin a couple of weeks (months?) ago. I think you only need to do it with a fNW Crew - which I have yet to see on the LAX 73N.

If your lead FA is fNW, you have to enter their fNW employee number into ACARS otherwise they don't get "lead pay"

Correct - and if I understand correctly they are still not allowed to split up the FA crews. Either all North or all South until the union issue is resloved.

As much as I would like this to be true, the company would have to cancel, re-instate or re-bid a whole heapload captain/FO of positions, since the last AE attritted about half the DC-9 staffing in preparation of parking 30 some odd -30s and 11 -40s.

Found it, we always had to enter the lead's employee number in so they would get the extra nickle or so they get for being lead. It was on the same page we entered both the capt and fo numbers in........which linked to the takeoff and landing update page.

Ferd <--------finger in the eye of the "blue" acars

PS Ruined my best pickup line..........."I know we just met, but if I could get your number"

PILOTS FLYING AN AIRCRAFT WITH A "BLUE" ACARS MUST ACCOMPLISH THE

FOLLOWING:

-ON THE ACARS "MAIN INDEX" SCREEN, SELECT "MISC MENU"

-SELECT "MISC RPT"
-ENTER THE NUMBER "12" IN THE "FRMT NO" FIELD

-PRESS "EDIT TEXT" AND ENTER THE PRE-MERGER FLIGHT ATTENDANT EMPLOYEE NUMBER

-PRESS "SEND"
