Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

The Embraer 175 "regional jet" being used on Delta Shuttle.

These should be ours. Especially since they have autothrottles and autobrakes.
At least they're with Compass which we can flow back too. The 190 is even better. The CRJ900 is one long airplane but as Jetblue said, it's still an RJ, the E jets are not. Either way, both airplanes should be in someway or somehow flown by NWA/DAL pilots.

I don't know the entire history, but there was a movement introduced by some of the Compass union guys to staple the Compass pilots to the bottom of the merged NWA/DAL list. As Compass is represented by the exact same MEC as mainline NWA, this shouldn't have been too difficult.
My impression and understanding was that there was almost no interest from the MEC to pursue this. So, while the folks on this board recognize the importance of recapturing flying that rightfully belongs to mainline pilots, the elected MEC officials are seemingly indifferent and have a different agenda.

I am in no way attempting a ****ing contest with you, but can you explain why the CRJ-900 is "still an RJ" and the E-jets are not? If you are going to tell me because Bombardier calls it a CRJ (Canadair REGIONAL JET) then I suppose I won't argue. But flying DTW-IAH/DFW/AUS/MSY, etc as we do on the 900...many would say those are not regional routes. And by the way, I totally agree with you on your second point about them being flown at mainline.

if you have to check your bag at the gate you might be a regional jet
If you use the airplane stairs on you might be a regional jet
(DC-9's don't use the stairs)
If you have no room for anything but your pilot case in the cockpit you might be a regional jet

Very WELL said.......
On another note...I would have FLIPPED if Compass guys would have been put anywhere on our Delta Seniority list. If that were the case, I may have well gone to an easier interview and gotten on with Compass.

Sounds like real job security and another aircraft that you could bid, with an assortment of layovers and routes coming back to mainline with it (San Antonio, Missoula, NYC, Boston, Toronto, Kalispell, etc.).
I can't see why that would cause anyone to flip out.

I found this that kind of talks about it so trust me I wasn't making it up not trying to pick a fight about planes but rather enlighten those who might not know that these E-jets in particular are, in the view of our competitor, very mainline like. All the way down to autoland, autothrottles, autobrakes, wide aisles, big windows, large overhead bins, first class, jetway only, and blah blah blah. And on the Jetblues dual HUDs and in-seat IFEs.
Coming out party-01/09/2003-Airline Business (its an interesting read as it talks about the 717s, A318s, CRJs, EJets and so forth.
And as to the term RJ, I used to fly the ERJ-145 from EWR-OMA, IAH-IAD, IAH-PSP and so forth so trust me I know, the term RJ has less to do with regional jet and more to do with Replacement Jet. I didn't like being blamed for it though, I think everyone wished there were more planes at mainline.

You'd flip out if they were the last 330 spots?

Absolutely I would man..... A regional Pilot on my seniority list!?!? Like I said, if that was the case I should have applied to compass instead of Delta. WAY EASIER to get on with them....could have saved me more than a few gray hairs and stress. I see what you are saying, I just feel your argument is flawed due to the fact that those Planes (ERJ's) should be at mainline being flown by MAINLINE pilots...not at Compass or (insert any other regional who flies them here).
Not trying to stir anything up, just my opinion Take it for what it's worth

It's amazing that there are people like you who think this way. My favorite sentence. "A regional Pilot on my seniority list!?!?" I've got news for you, there are regional pilots all around you at delta.
I guess in your world there are pilots and then there are "DELTA" pilots. It looks like the 5% rule applies to delta too.
