Why would a trip be covered by a LC guy with a YS before a SC guy when the call out is more than 12 hours? 23.N. is pretty straight forward I thought, until I talked to our dear schedulers. Can someone help me out? was I cheated out of a trip?

Here's what I've learned in my very short time under Delta scheduling.

If the computer doesn't do it, the scheduler won't do it. No thinking outside the box whatsoever.

Plus, I know your 7er so is it domestic or international? If it's domestic it is probably because of rest required. If it's international I have no freaking clue. :p

Not quite sure I understand the question. If the trip is more than 12 hours out, why wouldn't they use a long call guy? Is his raw score lower than yours with his yellow slip in? I'm probably not understanding the question but I don't see where the problem is. Number 4 in the list is long call pilots and number 5 is short call pilots.

NewK;

They were just waiting for your permission to do the press release.

I think they want to see that a pilot can work through interpersonal conflict easily and they value harmonious relationships as opposed to just "being right" all the time.

Was this the same shrink that committed suicide or are you folks from a different era.

I told the shrink my dad did psychological pre-employment interviews and I was done that quick.

Because it's cheaper?

That was the guy that did the psych stuff in the late 90's, I believe.

The shrink asked me if I had a death wish when he found out I was a skydiving instructor. I told him he had a bigger death wish than me because he was into hang gliding. He asked why and I told him that at least I had a reserve chute if something went wrong, whereas all he had was a quick prayer. He laughed and agreed with me.

If you had to talk to a bunch of pilots every day, you'd kill yourself too. I know I would.:D
