Yep... And these are the routes that RJ's should have been operating since the beginning (not JFK-IAH, EWR-CLT, SLC-LAX)...
1. We are pretty much at the cap for larger RJ's, and are cutting every 50 seater they can as fast as they can legally cut them 2. They are not very profitable, and we are stuck in long term contracts with more than we need. I think this is a great use of them in the interim....Also it frees up larger gauge equipment on routes that can handle it and takes inventory out of the system in other places to allow for higher prices in a supply/demand curve. Everything is profitable at the right price. The question is how many will pay that price? hence this is a smart plan to test the waters for this RDU thing with rjs. Next, try BNA and RIC. If demand is there bring in the 76 seaters. The good thing is this is a lot of press when you do this kind of stuff. All of a sudden the local radio stations and billboards announcing Delta noticed our city and is going to fly to Cancun direct!!!! |
Hey guys,
Would anyone be able to give advice on the 'open time' request process? I've been out on leave for 2 months and go back next week. I am having trouble with entering the open time request... think I screwed it up. Thanks |

Chuck that is good, because with more airplanes comes the need for more bodies. I just cannot wait to see what the yoy bump in summer 2011 block hrs is going to be. Based on that we will see if we need more bodies for next summer.

Getting more 90s is great! But can we now get someone to finally try to get 90 pay for all 88 guys? When you fly a 75 you get 76 pay. When you fly a 737-700 you get -800 pay. When you fly an A319, you get A320 pay. So why when I fly an 88, do I not get 90 pay? It's the same category, even more so now that all 88 bases will be 90 trained. Here's an idea, next time the company wants a side letter, we say "sure.....just sign this first"!

Interesting perspective, and thanks for giving it. I can see you and others may have taken those opinions as blame of south guys, but it truly is not. Again, all of us know that you guys are just line pilots like the rest of us - no blame on you at all.
As far as the Amish jokes, that's just me being a y-zass. Can't help that part dude, it's in the DNA. And for the record, I've never said things around here are being run by the Amish. I've just said that it would be an improvement if they did. I did it again...didn't I :D Carl |

I know you're probably right on this man, but our upper corporate management has done some pretty cool things very, very rapidly. So at least some of our managers have gotten their feet free of the molasses.
