Hi All-
Can the pilots have a company other than Fidelity and Financial Engines manage the 401K savings plan? The pilots can manage it themselves through the brokerage link, correct? Thanks |

Thanks I believe there is an option to choose your own advisor and then give them access to your account, but I don't know much about it. Financial Engines is expensive for what they do. If you have zero interest/knowledge they are better than nothing, but if you would rather have your $ compound for you rather than enrich Financial Engines, you can easily mirror what they would be doing for you and just buy index funds in the same proportion. |

I didn’t want to start a whole new thread to ask a simple question. Looks like I will be trying to Jumpseat on Horizon from ALW-SEA on Nov. 19. The last time I jumpseated on Alaska/Horizon I just checked in at the gate. Is that still the way to do it? Or do I need to use some other avenue now? Thanks for any answers!

Denny I frequently JS on Horizon, always listed at the gate in SEA, but list at the counter in smaller domiciles to avoid overwhelming gate agents. I’ve noticed that they seem to accept signups prior to the 1 hour prior advertised time, so the counters likely your best bet. |

Thanks everyone for the replies!:) Sounds like it’s the same as it used to be... I hear the ALW-SEA flights are usually very full. Gonna try one and if that doesn’t fly, I’ll head over to PSC and try there. There are quite a few more flights to SEA from there. Trying to save my sister some time by going out of Walla Walla.

I have got a 365 day block problem in which I am limited to 48 block hours in December.
I'm assuming that I should bid a reserve line to get the guarantee or I'll be limited to somewhere around 48 hours plus whatever credit there is. I would try to group my x days in the holidays with the exception of three or four earlier in the month spaced to break up availability. Are my assumptions right and/or does anyone have a better idea? Thanks in advance. |

A word of caution/reminder: the FAR 117 rules are Rolling rules. Check each day of December and make sure that you aren't 'dropping time' from last December. Otherwise you may not actually be timing out the way we did under 121 and you may hose yourself.

Assuming I don't start training early, do I get paid on the new aircraft rate at 2/1 no matter what? And if they do send me to training early, when does the new pay rate start? The first day of class, after the final sim, or after I am done with IOE? |

How do I request the slide in inverse priority. IOW slide 16, 15, 14 days instead of 14, 15, 16 days?
Using the range option of a vacation slide always goes to the date farthest away from the origional date and then works back toward the origional start date. Example Vacation Dec 15-22 Slide vacation range 1-5. It would try to start vacation on Dec 20 (+5) If didn't work then start date would be Dec 19, then 18, 17, and 16. Same logic for earlier range -1 to -5. New start date Dec 10, then 11, 12, 13, 14. Can always call the PBS call center on the 8th at 8 am. Good luck, David |

Seniority really does not come into play when building your schedule as an SLI. It of course does come into play during your fly months. You get six off days you can place where ever you like during your SLI month; plus you have about 6 periods you can ask to have off as well....
