forgot to bid 09-30-2010 12:36 PM

Ferd said FNWA 757 pilots call in sick more often because they're over sexed.

I'll just take his word for it.

You know better than this... people tend to follow the big airplanes. How (of course that is assuming the big IF on thte merger in the first place) that SLI works out will be critical to our seniority progression over our careers.

Especially those of us from the NW. All my buddies over at AK Air say they don't want a merger but you can bet the day they can bid the ER or 330 they will. That SLI will be huge to us at the bottom who want to be West.

That SLI, if it ever happened, would be HUGE to anyone at DAL that wants any kind of career progression!! I don't care how many retirements either side will have it will be imperative to get the max amount of credit for career progression (ie a/c types/heavies) as possible.
Hoping it never comes to that.....

It may actually make things more junior. Most of those who want out West are already here (just not very senior) and I'm sure Alaska has some guys who will go East. Hard to say how it would change things up.

It would be very nice to have LAX, SEA, MSP, DTW, NYC, and ATL as major hubs along with PDX, SLC, CVG, ANC, and MEM as smaller hubs. Would be nice to have HNL also. :)

Alaska 737 pilot on flying DAL aircraft (A-330):

I would never fly the 330. I'm a Boeing guy and I hate Airbus products. I like my flying and 8-10 hours anywhere is too long. I like the SEA as a base and would never commute to DTW. It's too cold there. It's not even worth that pay difference. I get paid just fine to fly the 737 and 330 pilots make.......
..

How much do they make?

Can I see a 330 bid packet?

How long is the training? :D

3. Frozen power cords up north. They are thawed out down south.
4. You are pilots, we all complain. If we had completely new procedures and manuals we'd complain about them. We don't so we complain about bases and flying.
5. 1,001 new procedures all trained via e-mail and CBT. I'd say it's going well.
6. I do too. Usually from SFO to NYC.
7. No, you take some Africa flying also.
8. If just a few more of you move, I'll hold a line in DTW or MSP. Or maybe DC9A.
9. Nope, you took NYC also. Probably more than ATL.
10. Not at all, but keep the rumor alive. I'll tell my fNWA FA story in the next post.
11. As it should be.
12. As it should be.
13. T h i n g s m o v e s l o w e r d o w n s o u t h. We haven't made the technology leap yet.
14. OK, that was funny. It'll be funny for years.

You are Delta pilots and have been from day one.

Thanks gun. Great responses. Especially, the last one. :)

I still say you attract bears.

Of course this coming from the guy that has a Northwest sticker on his flight bag (has been there for 9 years). :D

I liked 10 as well. 7 is alarming (although insanely predictable). Just wonder how long this fake printing press trillion dollar bill economy can hold out before the piper has to be paid.
