Pro: Gives posters a place to discuss issues that are relevant to Airline Pilots.
May help keep other threads on subject.

Con: Posters go partisan in about .01 seconds.
Thread quickly turns into a dumpster fire.

Now here is the important point - will this dumpster fire be a net positive for the DAL forum? Will it burn up more BS than it generates?

This brings up another point - Please report posts that you perceive as going over the line or violating TOS. Since we can not stay on top of every thread this will help us make this place more enjoyable for all.

1. Seeing an "export to Palm Desktop Calendar" option.
2. Seeing a reminder that the Outlook calendar option "requires Outlook 98 or newer"
2. Having to sit at your Windows PC--and no other--to use the Windows-only-on-your-hard-drive software to submit open time alerts, or to use EasyBid or EasySwap (for those guys who use those products). No app, no web interface, no ability to use a Chromebook, iMac (unless running Windows or a Windows emulator), iPad, smart phone, you get the idea.

All that said, the open time alerts--amazingly--are a very useful feature that I have also found lucrative, like Sailing has. I just wish that Sabre (who bought FDS years ago for their Flica product which Delta doesn't use) would update the two decade old software, But as long as you accept that they won't, the open time alerts are still pretty nice.

They are just doing their part as the Southwest side is still open on C. Those gassy FA’s are Delta to the core.

When your trip gets bought for OE has scheduling still been calling to release you from it ~3pm the day prior, or did I read that they are making us actually show for the trip now?

Thats been going on for more than a year. No language to help you either. Sometimes the checkairman can get a ioe student to show up and check in early if you need to grab you a flight home.

Ah, thanks. Guess I'll have to commute in and get a hotel just to be released the next morning then!

Unlike every other airline, which when bought off for OE you are free to do whatever you want (nothing or pick up another trip). Its called industry lagging like most things in our contract.

Changing HSA Contributions

What is the easiest/best way to change your contribution amount? DO I go to DELTANET or to the Optum website? I searched the DNET and could not find it so specific info would be very helpful. Thanks. :)

Scoop

DLNET->HR->Self Service->Benefits Direct->Red button called “Alerts and Opportunities”->Change HSA Contributions

[You can also add contributions from your checking account through Optum, but they will be after-tax. Probably not what you want to do.]

There was a guy at NWA had had an entirely webbased system that worked great. And that was 2006.

Then there was the automated jumpseat booking....

yup. Put in city pairs, pulled up loads and JS availability for the day. Check a box to list yourself as a non rev or book the JS. Another button told you were you were in non rev list.

Yes he sold a bunch of stock but there are severe restrictions on when he can do so. I’ll bet this sale was planned a long time ago (as in months).

That was the point!

I can’t believe a self-declared socialist was telling someone to toughen up and be happy they have a job.

Not until the plane(s) is/are in revenue service. That is projected to be next month.

In light of recent events, what is the company doing to protect the identities of pilots and employees?

This should be a concern for everyone.

what events? If you are referring to captain no mask/hat on, play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Regardless of what the boomers want, the landscape has changed, and they need to adjust accordingly or suffer the consequences of social media. Not saying it’s right, but it’s just reality now. You are always on camera if you walk back there

Custom order a fake one online. It’s very easy to do.

No one should have to violate the FOM to preserve their personal safety. This needs to change from the top down.

As you guys have pointed out, times have changed.

To respond to those changes, I vote for removing name tags altogether.

You are still required to display your ID in a secured area, are you removing IDs in the terminal and on board? I hate lanyards so mine is always clipped to my shirt pocket. I'm sure if I was constantly removing and replacing it I'd lose it on the first day. Is this really that big an issue? I'm not "bombable" and I don't interact with passengers unless I absolutely have to.
