Different airline but same problem on the iPad with the ‘I accept’ boxes. Got it to work by using Chrome browser.

”The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA) is the largest airline pilot union in the world and represents more than 62,000 pilots at 38 U.S. and Canadian airlines. Founded in 1931, the Association is chartered by the AFL-CIO and the Canadian Labour Congress.”

Maybe ALPA confuses themselves as a union? This is off the ALPA website…

Splitting hairs, but

It's right there in their "definition". They are an association in the way the operate like no other trade union because they are hemmed in by RLA and are essentially many "local" unions negotiating on their own CBA's all under the umbrella of the Associations purview, guidance, and assistance.

So even according to them, they are small u union, but actually an capital A Association.

In the end, don't care what they are or aren't, the RLA is there to deal with, and hopefully our dues are being spent to our benefit as much as possible.

Quick question for you guys: I am reporting today for a 5 day and just saw an equipment sub for the first 2 legs. It’s not an IROP and nobody has notified me. I’m a line holder. Trying to figure out how this works. Does the trip NOOP? Do I have recovery flying? Do I need to show on time or can I later report? Trying to get ahold of scheduling but I’m on hold….

I believe this would fall under 23k recovery flying they can either sit you for 6 hours past report or assign you 1 recovery rotation. Which im sure they will end up doing.

you’ll be notified at check in, and the equipment sub and return to your rotation will be covered under 23.L.2.a.3

It's after five in Atlanta, is it too much to ask for tomorrow morning's short call assignments to be complete? Is it that hard to pick a handful of names?

Not sure your fleet but mine in ATL has gone shortcall less on a few days last month. No discernible reason that I could see. Kept thinking they forgot and they just never did.

Anyone know how backed up OE is on the 320. Specifically ATL for initial Capt? Thank you!

Well I'm transferring in April 1st and was supposed to have nearly 40 below me by April 1st. Right now I'm bidding with only 13 below me on the seniority list. The vast majority of those 40 were supposed to be initial captains. This was off the October AE. Not sure if that helps, but might give an idea.

Friends,

Does Initial Qual distance learning get paid on the date that you complete the final lesson or does it pay out as you complete each module?

I’m getting a pay rate increase that I’d like to capitalize on by delaying my training completion date…

So if you're out sick and call in well while still under the footprint of the trip....can you swap with pot to fly a trip in that footprint?

I know you can white slip, and I know why that would be a questionable decision. I'm trying to drop a trip later in the month and at this point, a swap is about my only option.

I hope that made sense.

Yes you can, but they’ll take pay and credit and apply it to pay back your sick time for the days you fly on the original footprint.

WSing on the same footprint isn’t a problem at all. If you’re not sick any more and there’s a trip you want, WS it. Same payback rules apply.

Careful, it’s not the pay and credit from the original footprint. If the trip conflicts, ALL pay and credit up to the value of your sick leave will be used to replenish. In the case of a GS/IA, it’s the entire single pay portion, but none of the double pay portion.

Sputnik 03-09-2022 05:16 PM

Thanks guys. Understand it will go towards replenishing sick bank. I'm just considering it as a way of dumping an unwanted trip down the line

First of course, need to shake this bug

Shake the bug, call in healthy, then yes you can.

How is the company in regards to getting time off for your wedding? I'll be starting roughly 6 months out from my wedding, will they work with you to make sure you're off if you're a new hire? And if you're still in training?

you’ll be fine. Your mentor and CPO will help ensure you get the time off somehow

How long can most people expect to sit reserve in ATL on the 717?

FO side. Came to the 717 in August, I think I sat reserve 3-4 months before I entered line holding territory. Bidding 75% +/-. Flying a fair amount of weekends or partial weekends. Reserve wasn't too shabby living in base, I could hold on-call tues-thur with fri-mon off on a few stretches of the month. May bid back to it.

If you're in training, you may not be able to get a wedding plus honeymoon but they will work with you to get your time off for the weekend. If you're out of training, your CPO will be able to drop trips or reserve days from your schedule without pay if you can't bid it off normally.

Have 3 days of 23k, just picked up a 2 day. If I APD 1 or both days will I have any obligations for the remaining day or two of recover?

If you APD the 23J replacement trip, you'll have no obligation but you'll lose all the pay. Right now, you're getting paid for the 3 day even though you're only flying a 2 day.

To add: it's too late now but you also aren't required to recovery slip over the footprint. You can recovery slip any trip in the month.

This is true. It just has to have 50 percent or greater of the original trip credit, then you get paid for the original trip to fly less. Once you 23J, you can't change it without losing the original trip guarantee. This is how the pilots left flying during covid made so much money. I was getting 150 hour months to work 10 days.

but I can use my SUP day to cover one of the day? One of the days is worth over 8 hours. Just have to fill the form out to convert right?

Not sure about sup days but if it works like PB days it has to be the first day of the trip that you are using it on or any portion starting with day 1. If you have a high value day 1 it works but not for day 2. I had a 4 day trip that (WS just for PB drop pay purposes) was 7:48, 8:01, 2.20 and 3:16. dropped with PD and used 2 PBs to pay me for days 1 and 2. 2 PBs made me 15:49.

I would assume if you use a supplemental day to drop the 2 day, you'll lose the pay protection for the 3 day. I've never had a supplemental or payback day.
