Karma is a MF. While you guys were all getting hosed by the blizzard I was safe and warm in my home with the month off. Then my 14 yo falls and breaks his ankle in three pieces. Successful surgery but now I have to go to training for a month while he is hobbling around trying to get to school and up and down the stairs. Luckily I'm married to a saint.
Wish I could have traded Dec off for Jan... |

I'm exceedingly disappointed in this message. Two pages with bullet points. Talk of pay and quality of life. NOT ONE SINGLE MENTION OF SCOPE! I'll be making it very clear to Mr. O'Malley that he definitely missed the message in DTW where SCOPE restoration was a big topic of discussion. This is where O'Malley will be able to show his independence from Moak and ALPA national. So far, he's off to a BAD start.

I am heartened by this statement: Ultimately, the satisfaction comes from results—results of establishing a solid plan, allocating ample resources, clearly defining goals and the force of execution that comes from a unified pilot group. If I didn't know better, I'd think he lifted that directly from one of DAL88's posts.
Carl Happy New Year everyone!!! :) |

Carl It's hard to mention SCOPE when over half the ALPA membership is flying for the commuters. ALPA needs to split between mainline and commuter carriers. Right now there is a conflict of interest within ALPA. |
Thank you Delta for a great 2010
A few HVCs share their pleasant Delta experiences from 2010 and looking forward to a great 2011.

Oh, over half the ALPA membership isn't flying for commuters... |

I think we should split between Captains and First Officers. Right now there is a conflict of interest between those groups. All the First Officers want the Captain's seat, and if they can't have the seat they're looking to diminish pay for that seat and move it to their position. It's a clear conflict of interest.
Oh, over half the ALPA membership isn't flying for commuters... I think your overall experience is a lot deeper then many of ours. Rather then insult us with sarcasm, educate us with facts. Why isn't there a conflict of interest? Would separating Regional from Legacy be more harmful then good? This is a genuine request. I for one want to learn, & I'm encouraged by some of DALPA's latest actions. However, I still have a lot to learn. I know a lot of us would appreciate help. |

O'Malley's first letter to the membership sounds a lot like Moak's campaign letter: Talk about restoring compensation, but don't speak of Scope issues in any way. For everyone who wants Scope restoration and wording that prohibits the company from signing any new or extensions to existing RJ contracts, we are going to have to beat our LEC reps about the head and shoulders. We'll have to make it so painful for them, that they'll tell the O'Malley's and the Moak's that they risk DALPA's ALPA affiliation if they don't stop ignoring Scope. Carl |

Has anyone figured out how to get the drop down menus to work on TravelNet with a BlackBerry? I found Opera Mini browser works and I can make reservations, but I can't get the dropdown menus to work so I can find listings or reservations, etc. to work.
Thanks Baja. |
