they may have short call, but 78 hour guarantee too. reserve can go senior for those who live in base. |

At Delta, the MD88/90 categories has different pay rates depending on what you fly. A reserve gets the pay of the highest paying category they may fly, irregardless of what they actually. A line holder gets the pay prorated depending on which aircraft they are scheduled to fly.
Seems to work fine for that category. Unless you are the poor schmuck that has to live off those pathetic wages, flying around a 757 worth of pax. :) |

I am not asserting that our contract is as good as SWA contract either. To accept the current SWA contract as our next contract is however not going to be nearly enough for me to vote yes. If we offered the SWA contract to management I would bet they would jump on it and except instantly. I am however asserting that the differences between the contracts are not nearly as great when you look at all items. I expect at a very minimum SWA payrates plus a few percent and to keep the good things we have in our contract like the 14% retirement contribution. In fact I expect that number to go up into the 16 to 18 Percent range not remain at 14. Offer Delta management the SWA contract and they will have a party over in the GO that will last for weeks!!!

I will not accept the SWA contract unless we have a double breasted leather jacket. No double breast, no SWA contract. Simple as that.

Guys,
I have a good friend at AT/SWA who is also in the FDX pool. I'm very familiar with the FDX contract and pay, but I hear some pretty high $ numbers for SWA. I was recently told by a SWA crew that most f/0's could average $150k without killing themselves, and the Cap said he made $375k this year, but admitted he flew a lot. Any SWA folks care to comment on realistic numbers ? Many thanks...... |
