So MEM is shrinking by 25% and the population of Detroit has shrunk by 25%...
No wonder thoughs heavy fortified NWA hubs where so easy to defend...

I wouldn't even call DTW "heavily fortified", plenty of competition up at the new north terminal from SWA, Spirit, Lufthansa, and Royal Jordanian.

Good question!!! Never thought of it like that before.
I remember that CAL also used Eagle out in LAX for truly "regional feed", i think Eagle is like a mini-version of ALK, nobody can make money if they had to compete head to head, so they all pool together and just use one airplane to move everyone's passengers...
Not saying I necessarily LIKE the arrangement, but its better than losing money and cutting it altogether.
(I still think the ALK thing needs to be absorbed or drawn down over time)

What would be the significance of it being different or similar to another codeshare at another time? I haven't looked at the language in question WRT RAH, but either we're in compliance with RAH, or we're not.
Right?
Right?

I've seen and committed some pretty bad ones, but this one is right up there...
thoughs = those
One difference is Eagle never flew jets larger than 76 seats on any of their certificates, or flew for anyone other than AA.
I thought we'd be more concerned with protecting DAL pilot jobs than justifying why we can't or won't.

How is it that an airline that was about to go under a couple months ago now has enough capital to go buy new RJs?
Alitalia inks deal for 20 Embraer RJs
March 22, 2011
Joint venture partner Alitalia has agreed to purchase 20 regional jets from Brazil’s Embraer, the world’s largest manufacturer of regional aircraft, according to Reuters.
The deal includes 15 Embraer 175 jets and five Embraer 190 jets, with delivery beginning in the third quarter.
The planes will replace current aircraft and help modernize Alitalia’s fleet, Embraer said in a press release this week. The new planes will help the Italian carrier boost the number of flights available for short- and medium-length flights, the article said.
