Two quick contract questions as ALPA has not returned my call and I cant find the reference in the contract. How does the continuous duty pay work? We were late arriving and ended up with an 8:51 layover. Scheduler said we dont get the pay unless your layover is less than 8:15, FO said it should be 9:00..who's correct? Also do we get paid for repositioning an aircraft to the hanger? And if we do, how does one submit for pay? Thanks guys
I haven't looked it up but it used to be if the total of the scheduled duty periods before and after was under 20 hours, 1 for 2 kicked in with less than an 8:15 break in duty. If the sum of the scheduled duty periods was over 20 hours, 1 for 2 kicked in with less than a 9 hour break. Denny |

Thanks for the response. That is very helpful. I'm thinking of using it for some of my investment funds.

Did you go through all of the courses that are offered or only specific ones?
Snider has a whole bunch of other courses that I think would be very good... but you don't need to take them to learn the Snider Method. |
Rumors I heard from a friend at UCAL. Not verified and not regarding merger so if its been posted before, apologies.
UCAL is going to buy an iPad for each pilot. All their pubs are electronic and the only paper copies are on each jet. They have approval to use it in flight ABOVE 10000 ft. So not an EFB yet, but working in that direction. Due to the rolling power outages in NRT, pilots complained of being unable to get adequate crew rest on their layovers when the outage was 0000-0400 local time thus causing fatigue. UCAL management agreed to augment all Asia flying with an extra pilot including legs under 8 hours like NRT-BKK and NRT-SIN. This was apparently cheaper than staging everything from KIX-NRT-wherever for all the crews. |

This is the course that teaches the Snider Investment Method: Snider Method

Why does this "Snider Method" stuff reek like a Tony Robbins infomercial? I just saw that this course cost $2500 to take and it didn't really give any specifics on what would be taught. Only says that you'll get rich. I have the sneaky suspicion that the only one getting rich is Snider? |
