If a deadlock is the reason for the change maybe the answer should be adding a member. More ideas and less chance of complete control by the constructive engagement crowd.

Suggest you go and read the policy manual (available on the DALPA site).

It's time for a regular NC election according to policy.

I'm aware of that, but that doesn't answer my question. Does one really think it's a good idea to change the NC 6 months prior to Sec 6 opening?

We are in two wars in the middle east, should we still have Congressional and Presidential elections next year?

Of course we should. We have established a policy manual to ensure that process is followed. We have the process to help ensure that the membership is always represented in the most effective way. Our elected reps will take many factors into consideration when electing the NC. They really would like to hear from their constituents on the matter so let them know what you think.

Or not, to be decided by the status Reps. Their call. They could 1) hold no elections, 2) reaffirm the current NC, or 3) hold an open election.

That's up to the MEC, and the regular election is in their policy manual. We will also have regular elections for 3 local councils this fall and 3 more next fall. An election is also scheduled for new MEC officers next August. All of those will occur during the timeframe you are concerned about the Section 6 process. If you believe we shouldn't have elections during preparation for and actual contract negotiations, contact your elected representatives and voice your opinion.

Absolutely. They could decide to waive the policy manual or even change it. The policy as currently written calls for an election 6 months prior to openers or 90 days prior to the end of the NC's two year term.

Hey guys

Getting ready to head out for recurrent. In the past, we had to print out a copy of our distance learning stuff and all of our certificate info. I couldn't find that link on Icrew. Is that gone now that we have the new system? Or am I simply missing it?

Thanks for the vector.
