Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

A number of different places but its all speculation. What you heard/read could be just as correct. I'd have to agree with Free Bird, what the FAA says is probably what will happen.

Interesting thought, they have us scheduled to fly till the end of December and by most accounts, SOC will be in November. Curious to see how the displacements work. Yeah, I know what they told us but what they told us and how it actually plays out, look to be different things.

Do we expect to see more CA slots available for the DAL-N pilots and a shifting around of the DAL-N pilot force?

The SOC is still planed for the end of DEC, the big changes at least fleet wise will be starting in June01....and a bigger one in Aug, these changes will be much harder to digest. AWABS and FPS will not occur untill mid 2010...maybe, I think the DEC SOC is still doable, but maybe not realistic.

I thought that the DAL N pilots could only take new spots and not bump current positions. Shouldn't you be safe or am I messed up?

Any updates on Boeing giving us cheap 777's? What about our threat to return 6 leased 744's unless they give us some good deals? Anyone know?

Since we have more pilots than jobs, there will be a displacement. Since Delta does not desire a one sided furlough, I expect it will be a couple bids past SOC before we know what the picture looks like.
In the interim, programs like this pilot early retirement package will try to mitigate the harm.
Maybe this will take long enough that the economy comes through the other side by then (4th qtr 2010). Over the long term everyone agrees that aviation is a growth industry and Delta is well positioned.

In a displacement they can take whatever their seniority will hold except for the 777, until we give in on that too.
