MEM guys? I don't think so. They will MD into ATL. IF they lived in the NE they would have already picked the DTW 320. The 320 and DC9 guys will MD into ATL on the 320, the 330, and the MD88. But, there will be a certain group who would love to fly the bus in NYC. Can you think who I am talking about? BOS commuters, due to the Shuttle flying have home layovers.
I think that's what ACL might have been referring to. Currently NYC ER has guys from the very last class hired that were MD'd into it. |

Does anyone think Delta is setting up to furlough?
Retirements aren't terribly far off and it wasn't long ago they were belly aching about not knowing when the 60+ might walk or have to walk. Add the Compass mess and I'll also toss in a NO vote. |

Carl the answer is simple, we allow it [the JV outsourcing excesses].
Worshiping the shareholders to impress the crackberry analcysts might get us a favorable one day bump here and there when our next "capacity dicipline" press release comes out, but its harming the core product and revenue generating engine of this airline for the long term. When that happens, the shareholders get punished even more than labor when they lose 100%. Shareholders have to be placed firmly behind labor and customers or all 3 lose. |

That cut in pay will allow Delta to hire two GoJet pilots.

Transportation between LGA/JFK adds up. Or over to EWR if you get a trip there, since NYC covers all three. May not happen to a line holder, but reserves can't be so picky.

One more thing to think about - What if this supposed 1 year lock was the deciding factor that prompts the company to start hiring 1 year earlier than without it? How do you think the new hires would feel about that? How would we all feel about that? Scoop |

Contract question
Hey guys,
I have 6:30 am shortcall tomorrow. Scheduling just called and assigned me a rotation with an 1120 report time, but said I was still on shortcall at 0630. Can they actually do that ??? Thanks, BG |

Novel, but most could not see their houses if they wanted to. Many have spouses with careers in a city they live in, and cannot afford the loss of pay. Many have spouses that are major caregivers to their grandchildren so their daughters/sons can work.
There are a few that commute because they want to live in X, but most do it to keep a marriage together, and can afford to live with paycuts. Forcing pilot to get rid of that second income may wake a few of them up though. |

I totally understand the concerns about what we may have given up for this, but as an old guy, I would have given my left *** to be be seat locked in a window seat instead of the back seat of a 727.
