Not NYC 7er. I've heard the category has made guys break down and cry.

NewK;

What he said. I have jumpseated numerous times on the -9. I'm a dog watching TV, completely lost. I know there's a vor in front of us, I know there's an airfield out there somewhere. I'm just lost. I am absolutely certain I could not competently go thru DC-9 school.

You -9 guys/gals definitely win in the "non-sissy jet" category.

...and if that wasn't enough, apparently Godzilla got tired of Japan and bid to the NYC ER as well:

That's one way to put it. Another way would be for DALPA to allow pilots to retire, then come back and fly the line while being off the seniority list. With 1000 guys on furlough no less.....

Great program, hope to see that again.

scambo,

As with everything, if I can do it, anyone can do it.

But, if you are senior to me -- which I think you are -- everything I do and bid is very difficult and not worth it at all.

It is highly unlikely that would ever happen again. There simply isn't the demand to hire pilots to come back right now.

Actually, I think there is some confusion. We are referring to the latest early out programs, not the DAL pre BK ones. Maybe they were called PRIPs? Sorry for the confusion.
